The funny thing is (well, possibly not for you) is that there is a LERA rule about not wearing camo gear, especially at Bisley I seem to recall. The original LERA Chairman (Roger Nation, splendid chap, much missed) used to remind us periodically. Peter may be right, it might have been an Enfield only day, but unless it was a comp, other rifles of all types are usually seen. Whatever, it was very rude of whoever it was to behave like that with a new member.

Charlie303,
As I recall the day was not a comp day just an range day short siberia 200 when it had the shelter below and behind the point, (before it blew over). It was 10+ years ago so over it now.
I did join the VAA soon after and was allowed to shoot the Fal.

I used to be a member of LERA with a Fal about 10 years ago, I turned up for my first shoot at Bisley No4 and Fal I was told can't use that here it's not a Enfield. Never went again, not the fal above a different one 20" barrel but still no extraction issues used IMI .308 ammo. So I do not think it was me you knew, kept my Fal for several years.
[B]You should have told Him that it was a pre trials X8. Before all the recommended Mods & Changes had been implemented to L1A1 Spec!......;)

Or maybe you should have just told him to get a life - and get out a bit more!
One of the NRA big wigs at a meeting (re an Army shoot we'd gone to liaise about)) said that he didn't like my big Army Issue (and very dirty.....) Land Rover parked in the NRA car park. I told him that I appreciated his views and I'd report the his view back to the Director of Infantry. I also mentioned to him that it wasn't the NRA range or complex at all. But owned by the MoD no less.

Given the state of some of the car parking areas at times I'd have said that a Land Rover was the ideal vehicle.:lol:

Not to mention the track down to Short Siberia! An old Landrover practically essential :D
