I've been giving this a bit of thought for a couple of years now.
At the moment, focussing on putting a standard .22 magazine into a housing that has a push-rod similar to the Parker Hiscock. Thinking of using a 7.62 Ishapore 2A1 magazine case - this fits the No 2 Mk IV and has a removable bottom plate, so making the internals easy to get at for modifications.

I think that sounds like the way to go. Would definitely be an interesitng project and juding from the racks of .22 No 2 Mk IV rifles at last year's Service Rifle state titles I'd say there'd be a fair amount of interest in them too - especially given some of the controversy around the Norinco Mauser K98 .22s and the feeling their magazines offer a potentially unfair disadvantage.

I think like this....... If life really were sooooooo simple, would these past designers have totally redesigned the bolts and boltheads, such as the No7 and 8 if they really didn't need to?
I was taught very early on and learned the hard way subsequently that weapons have to cock, feed. load. lock and then fire. Then unlock, extract and eject. Lock, Fire and Unlock are simple. It's the other parts that are the problems

Any updates on the .22 magazine project gentleman?
