War Baby III says to add the marking AI to "Front Band Assembly -New" in War Baby. I thought that meant to replace the "?" following American Swiss Co. with AI. I need some help on this one. :surrender: - Bob
There are AI type 2 bands in addition to the AS bands. The AS look like PI in a pendent.
I just notice this today when Dan blew up a few Pics for me on my NPM. On my '44 NPM I have a T2 BB that I thought was a little scratch until he sent me back these pictures. Then I read in WB 1 That IBM used them and a few other places and had sent 35,000 of them to NPM in 1-'44 to 2-'44. Hmmm, but no Makers Name. I always thought it was a little scratch or unmarked.
On page 1092 of WarBaby III, there's a picture of a T2 barrel band with a marking nearly identical to Inland 44's except it's completely horizontal rather than vertical. Don't know if that's unusual or not? - probably just another variation from one of the several known manufacturers of these bands. - Bob
