Quality Hardware question

Well, thanks to all of your help I have uncovered the recoil plate and stock secret.
They are both Winchester.
The recoil plate "W" stamp was under a spot of rust on the top. Almost impossible to photograph but I think I got some of it in the left side pic. Right side pic shows approximate location.

The stock stamp was in the sling recess.

Ok, that was fun ....... what next?

Next..... why does my hammer spring have only 19 coils?

Perhaps it was trimmed down?

Perhaps , but wouldn't that cause misfires?

Nope. I've done them before (in various guns) and as long as it has enough snap to do the job...it's a fine line. You should be able to tell if it's not a factory length spring, the one end of the wire will be straighter than the other.

I thought the Q rear sight was a topic and could not find it. I posted this elsewhere. It has been suggested it is possibly foreign made
