I have now serviced/fixed up a few of my own optics, but the idea of doing even basic to someone else’s would give me worry, on top of that charging a real rate for the time spent I think would put anyone off.
I think the biggest part for me is the unknown of if you have fabricate a spare part for first time and then knowing how it may perform over time. It is one thing if it’s your own or a friends but another if it is a customer.

I have a decent assortment of parts and willing to spare a few.
I think a member or two on here can vouch for the quality of the parts.
That also includes glass lenses at a very affordable price.
I find scope work very relaxing and almost as good as a single malt..ALMOST!!!:D
Having parts is the main reason the repro scopes got such a bad reputation is that no one had parts and nothing worse than b**gering up a friend or customers scope.
Having a few parts for the repro scopes I was able to take a run at them and they are not that bad once "tarted up" a bit.

Yes, Optical Repairs - Home - Optical Repairs - Malcolm serviced my No32 Mk3 scope last year and fixed the stuck drums
Have a look at his webpage which shows the Before and After pictures of a No 32 scope that he restored.
Also have a look at the giant WW2 Japanese Naval Binoculars that he also restored - and which I am lusting over...
