I shot my No.4(T) scopeless and was underwhelmed

I'm installing a fresh FTR Mk.2(W) telescope back on one restored here over the past year today. It started as a butchered, chopped barrel, bag of parts. At least it had a matching bolt! I'll be range testing it this afternoon weather permitting. The rifle shot a ragged hole at 25 yards with iron sights when I range tested it in June. We'll see if I can hold it at 2 moa or less at 100 yards. That's about the best I can do with a No.4T and Mk.7z ball and it's good enough.

For some crazy reason I have more No4Ts than sporters...

This thread is at a perfect time, and I'm learning a lot. Our next monthly long-range Vintage Military Rifle Silhouette match has the Enfield action as the Flavor-of-the-Month. So, a couple of us had the idea to bring out our No 4(T) rifles during a testing day to see how they matched up with iron sights against our other options. I've got a nice No 1 Mk III (Lithgow), No 4 Mk I, No 4 Mk II, and an Ishapore 2A that I plan to test also. I like to bring them out and shoot them whether they might make the cut or not, anyway. I've no intention of testing the No 5, or the No 4 Mk I with the flip 300/600 sight for the match, but they get their share of the rotation.
