If you looked at the Hand Guards section in the link Wayne attached back in reply #3 you've seen you have a Inland hand guard made by S E Overton.... O I.
It sure matches your stock in color and grain flow nicely.
After you lube it up, let us know how it shoots.
Early S'G' like this are sought after. Hard part is finding a correct stock for them. Rare and Pricey when found. Stamps are often Faked, so beware.

I'm a little late with this, and yes like Wayne said "makes a person's head spin". My 1.89M S'G' has a "round" ear on the receiver and an 8-43 marked barrel. - Bob

Add that it's in the IP - S'G' split serial number block makes these that much harder to understand.... Plus, Mix in the 3 mil block with mixed S.G. and S'G' receivers and who made what and when?
