Hello. I found this today, and thought I'd like to join. I'm mostly interested in 98K Mausers and K-31's.
Hey guy's and gal's
I came over from CGN, just got my PAL a while back and thus far have a No5 JC and a bubba No4 which is my moose gun. Also have other's but not milsurps.
Just thought I'd say hi and introduce myself.
:)
Have been lurking for some time. I shoot long range Tactical rifles and true black powder single shot rifles. Right now I am looking for a Borchardt in 45/70 and a Remington rolling block in 45/70. Regressing in my old age. I see a few folks on here from other sites i am on, makes me feel at home.
Regards delta1
i'm also a member of cgn, just started collecting older military stuff, started with an m305 and am looking for a good M1.
Hi My Name Is Walter And I Live In Belgium Europe I Hope You Enjoy Jour Hobby As Match As I Do
Hello All
New to collecting and guns in general. Hopefully I can learn a lot from the members.
Hello, I'm new here but have been collecting military firearms for some years. I have a little bit of everything, mostly WWII & later (except f/my circa 1930 '03Springfield & 1936 Russian Nagant pistol). I'm retired from the Fed. Gov't & reside in the "Horse Country" area of northern Va. in the US.
Regards,
Donzi
Greetings from south of the border,
My name is Chase and I just joined up, I'm a big fan of surplus rifles, particularly Enfields and Ross rifles. I've heard all of the Ross Rifles, parts and knowledge are still up north so I thought I'd drop in
Hi folks! I'm a new member with interests in Commonwealth and US milsurps of both World Wars and the present. I am an English instructor and photojournalist here in Alberta, with a great love for horses, saddles, ranching, and our country.
Hi everyone.
By way of introduction, I have been collecting Milsurps for a little over a year.
My main areas of interest are US, Swiss and Mauser milsurps.
My son and I shoot in a military silhouette match every month. the rules call for the use of a dead stock military rifle (stock triggers, sights, barrels and stocks) and involve shooting chicken silhouettes @ 200 meters, pigs @ 300 meters, turkeys @ 385 meters and rams @ 500 meters. Shooting is done from the prone and a front bag rest, no machine rest, and no rear rest can be used. We usually use either K31's or Swiss 1911 series rifles when we shoot this match.
Hello fellow enthusiasts. I'm a disabled Veteran now, living a quiet life on our family farm.I enjoy the history that accompanies the men,and the arms required by them in resolving world conflicts which have kept our nations free. I have hunted in the hills of Kentucky since I was very young. I'm a former Combat Engineer, I no longer hunt. I do practice my marksmenship with a variety of weapons,(safely) while enjoying and respecting, feeding and caring for the wide variety of wildlife on our farm. At age 50 plus...I hope to pass gun safety and history to my many grandchildren. I am second generation from the Isles of Skye. Thank you for accepting me-David

Bill
Saw the link on CGN and came over for a look (same name at CGN). Great site, lots of interesting stuff. I have not had a chance to check out all of it yet but give me time.
I just discovered this forum. I have recently started purchasing milsurp firearms. So far I have a M44 and 91/30 Mosins and a Yugo SKS. Always looking for info to rebuild and improve the old war horses.
Live in southern NM and can walk uphill of the house to shoot.

Short introduction here, with my given name being David Carson, the screen name derivation should be obvious. I live in the people's republic of Kalifornia, and have been active in the West L A NRA members council for some years. I started collecting firearms in 1989 with a m1917 enfield, as well as 1917 S&W, M 1, SMLE4 and sks.
Hello All, new here (just slow on introducing myself ... sorry 'bout that) and owner of a No4 Mk1. Member of CGN also (which is where i got the link for this site !)
I am pretty new to the collecting business but am sure i will enjoy this !
Welcome aboard to all of our new members.Enjoy Paul M
Hi Guy's I have a collection of rifles and pistols but nothing specific I just like guns.
Hey ALL. Well I am bringing my Militaria Interest over to the proper web site. CGN is good but Milsurps is my passion.
I'm on here as k98action too..
Hello everyone

Another new member here. I'm from Manitoba and I'm primarily a WWII Canadian and US collector. No firearms in the collection yet but I'm hoping to change that as soon as possible.
Hi,
New to this site, but not new to milsurp guns. Will have questions on some milsurps that I'm not too familiar with and hope you guys can help. Thanks in advance.
Charles
Hello everyone,
I just found this site this morning and decided to register as it appeared very interesting indeed. My first military surplus rifle was a K98k, dou 43(mismatched) bought at Hercules Sales in Toronto in the 60's. I have had a number of surplus arms since then. However, a few years ago I began collecting Military Mausers. I also have a likeing for the SKS however. So my main search is for some decent Gew 98s and an East German (NVA) SKS or as it is know in East German parlance "Karabiner S". My secondary interst are bayonets and militaria in general
Greetings all.
I'm a newbie to this forum.
Until my recent retirement I've carried a gun for living.
My interest, WW2 sniper rifles, curently own, Mauser ZF41, a Swedish M41B and a Mosin PU.
Hi all. I am also a new member and I enjoy reading all the posts here. Will probably have a few questions. I have been hunting and shooting for decades and have had my fair share of military rifles in the past. I am now sorry i let most of them go. I am also guilty of bubbafying some of those guns when they were cheap to buy. Gone are the days of thirty dollar Swedish Mausers and Mosin-Nagants for around 25 bucks..
Right now my passion is Lee-enfield rifles. Just picked up a genuine No.5 and i have a few No.4`s and a couple of no.1`s. All but one are sporterized. But three are FTR`d and one receiver looks brand new. That`s all for now.
Hi. I'm a new member.
I'm a Germany militaria collector, colector of sniper weapons and a Long Range shoter.
New guy here - just found this forum. I've been collecting / shooting milsurps for just over a year now and am fortunate to have my two sons involved. We have Russian and YUGO SKS's, over a dozen Mosins of various types including two just restored 91/30 ex-PU snipers, a couple Enfields, Nagant revolvers, FEG pistols etc. It's a great hobby and sooooooo much less expensive than the car racing I've done for the past "too many" years!
HI gang!
I'm a newly converted rifleman, what's old is new!
I've had a carcano for years, and in the last two years I got into collecting USGI rifles.
It's a sickness! 8 M1's, 2 1903's, 2 carcanos, 1 k98k rc, and now a carbine on the way.
Well, we can all understand the addiction.
Hello everyone
I'm a newbie to collecting Military Surplus. I just got my first start with a Remington U.S. Model of 1917 and what looks to be in great condition. I also got in the same purchase a Swedish Husqvarna Vapenfabriks AB which I think is a 9mm and a Hi-standard model B .22. The last item in the purchase is a barrel with the bolt from a No. 4 MK1. I would like to restore the MK1 so any help on where to begin and where to get parts would be appreciated.
I'l try and get some pictures posted in the next few days.
Hello there.
New Member.
Been Collecting since the late 90's.
Love Lee Enfields (have 5 and want more of the family)
Be Gentle with me....lmao.
Hi, I followed a url from TFL forum and wow! This is really a great site. I've bookmarked the site and will be checking in from time to time.:D
Howdy everyone, just found this site. I'm an Alaska guy, shoot alot when the weather is good....reload and mail-order stuff in the winter. 1st rifle was a "sporterized" SMLE, around 1964 (I was 14) mail ordered for 19.95. Painted light green (not parkerized)Had sand all over the insides. I imagined Africa or South Pacific....probably just a real dirty old gun. Lee Loader and handcast bullets, #311332, not big enough for the bore. Took a long time to figure that one out...no internet, hard to find information back then. Some fun though!!! Still at it.
I've always been interested in military firearms. I was born in '39 and completely immersed in the "WAR" as a kid whose father was in the Pacific. I spent most of my time reading everything I could about small arms and destructive devices.
Then, I discovered you could buy them and take them home with you and the addiction really set in. I withstood the powerful forces marriage, family, and business to set aside time to play with my guns
Now I'm old and running out of rope, but still drawn to milsurps. This board has some extremely well informed individuals and lots of toys to play with. Just trying to keep the fever going a while longer. Bill.
Hello, I've been lurking on this site for a while. I have Mausers and am looking for a .43Mauser to use as a shooter. I like the process of developing accurate loads for my guns.
Hello;
I'm an old retired guy. I still work at my hobby, which by now, I have a fair reputation at..Artistic blacksmith..leaves, vines, animal heads etc..I also forge blades, concentrating on 1800-1840 fur trade era models.
I live in rural ,western NY State.
I have only had one milsurp (7.65 Argentine) back in the 70s but don't have it anymore.
Just recently became again interested...
Hi folks.....new member.
Six various enfields,SKS,Hungarian Mossin Nagant,BSA.....ect
Hello, everyone!
I'm a longtime collector but a very short-time forum user. My interests fall into the categories of WW I and WW II rifles, pistols, etc. For many years I plinked away on an old sporterized SMLE. Good times. Now I am looking for either an unmodified Enfield P-17 in 30.06 or an M1 carbine. Any help tracking these down would be greatly appreciated.
Please reply about this or anything. Happy to be here!
Hi Everyone,
I'm new here and would like to learn more about military weapons and things that go bang in the night! I belong to other internet gun groups as well.
Thank you for having me.

Hi Badger and everybody,
I'm interested in the Lee Enfield SMLE and especially its variants. I'm in southern England.
er..that's it!
Hello everybody i am a new member, love collecting Military surplus rifles & handguns thanks.
Greetings;
Fresh from CGN as well,. Total newbie to milsurp ownership but some handling history from cadet days, oh those many years ago: LE .22 trainer on the range squad and some very limited C1 exposure at camp. As well, growing up, my dad had an M1 .30 carbine that was just too much fun. Wish I had any one of those three in my possession.
Initially, looking for an SAFN-49 and have appreciated all that I've learned about them just from the threads here already. Expect more posts from me about this in the days to come.
Hi folks my name is Ken The Kanuck and I am a collector.
OH ! that felt so good to get off my chest.

Hi there
I am wce323078 and I am interested in shooting, Thats how I came upon this site I just got a norinco m14(m305) to go with my M1 Garand and was looking for information, This looks like a good place to find it
Good Day Everyone, I used this name, M1Garand as the same name I used in CGN membership. I was introduced into firearms by my dad and continued the love of this military firearms hobby here in Canada. Looking forward to meeting fellow enthrusiasts and hopefully getting good tips about this passion. So far, I have M1 Garand, Swedish M38 and C3 clone.
Hi everyone, Im Dave and live in the UK I am ex army and I collect mainly british weapons, I currently have a 1917 lee enfield and a 1943 bren as well as numerous edge weapons, I have joined to chat, learn and trade.
Hello everyone,
My name is John but some people call me by my middle name, Mathias. I'm 30, from Pittsburgh, PA and attended gunsmiths school about ten years ago but was never able to finish. We worked on a lot of milsurps when I was in school and that's where I caught the bug. I only have one myself, a Hungarian Mosin Nagant M44. I thought the board looked interesting so I thought I'd introduce myself first. :beerchug:
New member here. Looking for a decent stock for my 38 carbine. My dad brought it home from New Guinea after WW2. I "sporterized" it when I was 14 to use as a deer rifle. I would like to put it back original.
Hello gentlemen, I am new to the site. I am somewhat of a gun collector. I enjoy many types of guns. Look foward to talking to you all.
Hi everyone. Rob here. I'm on CGN, and canadacarry.org. I have liked Lee Enfields for as long as I can remember seeing one. I liked them even more when I found out they originally had a full wood stock. I can't explain exactly why, but I do know almost any other milsurp I have seen didn't do it for me visually. the M1 carbine, and rifle being the exception.
I am looking at a couple MK4 No 1's, and will expand my collection to the MK1's later.
I am considering an expensive one on CGN, but I don't know if it's way overpriced or what. It is pristine, and rare for sure, but I don't know just what is out there, or what to look for. It is what I had hoped to find.
Any advice is appreciated. I just like the way they look. So far, I haven't shot one, but soon I hope to.
I am just recently getting back into fire arms. I shot .22 target about 22 years ago, and I have only shot a .30 06 on one occasion. No hand gun experience yet, but I have my RPAL.
Anyway, just saying hi. Cool site!
G'day all - collector of about 20 years - made the #1 collectors mistake of not specialising in any one particular area, or era - subsequently have a number of old bolt action service rifles from around the world starting from the mid 1880's.
Have worn alot of differing caps in my professional life, currently in marketing the shooting sports here in Australia.
Greetings from Newport News, Virginia.
I have been collecting & shooting Milsurps for over 35 years.
I am mostly interested in WW2 arms, from all participants.
Merle
Hi Every One

New here and new to CGN too. My buba Enfiled is my only Milsurp, but it's likely just the first.
hi, new to this forum, but enjoy firearms and just recently received a copy of my great grandfather's release papers from the dnd in 1919, so now have a personal interest (more so than before) in milsurp.
btw, is there a list of canadian milsurp dealers?
thanx for the forum

Greetings!
I collect, restore and shoot SMLE (No. 1) Mk. III/3s. The most interesting of the modest little group is a No. 1 Mk. III that originated in The Khyber Pass, it's clearly a counterfeit and has a family name crudely engraved on the butt plate in Pashtun; the oldest is a 1915 Lithgow. I also have some representative members of our American 30-06 battle rifles but my favorites are the 303Bs. My latest interest is the No. 4 Mk. 1 (T).
These battle rifles represent not only the history of the period of their service but the men who carried them. Working on the guns and shooting them is a direct, tangible connection with these warriors of the past. The fact that they are lots of fun to work on and shoot is a great bonus.
I look forward to your learned advice.
Gratefully,
SMLE_Sam
Howdy,
I'm new here, but I've been collecting 20+yrs.

Thanks for the opportunity to join this forum.:)

I shoot skeet, rifle & handun target shooting.
I live just a short distance from Toronto.
New member just joined today. I am a member of various other boards. I have been collecting for a few years (again). Collection is growing fast since I have retired and have more time. Have filled 3 safes so far, but need to slow down grandchildren are complaining
Hello, first posting from myself.
New member based in Uk, North East England. 20 years shooting experience, mainly in military, (Light Infantry).Keen shooter with main interest in old milserps particularly Lee Enfields.
Milserps owned at present are S.M.L.E No.1 mk3 and Lee Enfield No. 4 converted to target rifle with scope and heavy barrell. Now on the lookout for a .22lr S.M.L.E. or No.4 training rifle for indoor range shooting. These are however quite rare in the Uk and demand a high price for a good one.
Thanks for the interesting and informative site.
Just joined today, got by C&R eight years ago and now have three safes full of milsurps
Hi folks, I'm new here. Have several milsurps and hope to be a high volume shooter with them using cast bullets. Already have lots of cast for M1 carbine and want to get rolling on a .303 Longbranch. Hope to find a few small parts for a '41 Johnson too.
Hello everyone,
I've been collecting firearms for many years, but lately have found the Ross rifle to be very interesting ...especially the 280 Ross .
Will be asking a lot of questions about the 280 Ross .
I am very active in collecting military surplus, viz Lee Enfield No 4 mks 1 and 2 [T] with No 32 scopes, i also collect military silver and am looking forward to reading views and comments from other enthusiasts.
Regards.

I got started in collecting since I was 12. The things I enjoy a lot with them is meating other collectors and muledeer hunting with them. I realy like it when I go to the range where some one is tring to sight in there just-bought scoped toy and out shoting them @ 100yrds with a 100+ year rifle with V notched sigths. I DO NOT like to see them sporter chopped, (in the 50's it may have been a good idea). If I had my way, it would be an assault charge. Ok take care.

Hi. I'm new here. I'm not sure what I've stumbled across here but I'll do a lot of reading to find out. I have some MN 91/30, M44, MN 91/59, a couple Finns. Also Turk Mausers, SKS's and anything else I can afford to buy.
My interests are primarily WW2 US rifles such as Garands and '03's, but who can't love a nice Savage, or LB No4mk1*
Cheers Paul

Good morning. I may be the first 2008 new member. I've been shooting since I was a kid growing up in VT. Currently shoot a German 8 mm k98, long and short 6.5 mm Swedish mausers, assorted shotguns, and a little black powder. I reload ammo for all the guns. I look forward to being a participant of this community. pophoyt
Welcome jacob...
I think you can find on-line what you need from any obe of several reputable dealers. Why not try a WTB (Want to Buy) ad on CGN's EE, as well as our own Quartermaster Stores, just see if there's someone who can give you a good deal.
Regards,
Badger

1145 J is crossed out and ER 4785 is stamped above it.
UH OH!! am I supposed to do this here ?:dunno:
Newcomer to forum. See lots of interest in Enfields. Just finished restoring(didn't need much, it was never issued) a #4 Mark 1* Longbranch 1950 and would like to find a military scope. I believe this is a sniper version and would like to keep it fully military.

First post so hi to everyone. Looking for good info (web articles, books) to become familiar with Canadian war-era firearms mostly, although there certainly are a lot of interesting guns out there from other countries too. Never been in the service though family background has had one RCAF and one NWMP.
