Hello All:
New member accessing the forum, Am coming to the end of my collecting hobby soon and am trying to evaluate my collection. 73 years old and don't shoot much any more due to arthritis and other problems. Collection mostly WWI and WWII long rifles and pistols and associated ammo, but some modern weapons too. Also reloading equipment and supplies. Wife wouldn't know what to do with the collection if I passed, and doesn't want to fool with it anyway. Only son not interested and grandkids are all girls.
No rush to disburse, but I should probably start doing it.
Desire to sell to serious collectors, so I will be selling through the various forums. Will let you all know when the time comes.
Respectfully,
Bob37

Hi Folks,
This is our first posting and I'm sure many more are to follow.
Having been a serious collector for many year of the Luger Pistol and Mauser Broomhandle Pistol along with all the accessories and accroutements. We decided in 1985 to launch our first very own website specialising in Luger and C96 Pistols. Although I have no idea where the time has gone (which almost amounts to the blink of an eye lid) we are now in our 25th Year of trading.
We would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers old and new for their continued support without whom none of this would have been possible.
If any members should have any particular needs or may have difficulties in finding a particular piece, part or accessory or would wish to see a particular Luger Or Mauser Broomhandle Accessory made which is not currently available today. Then please feel free to email us with andy of your suggestions or requirements.
Regards & Best wishes.

Hello from the Land of Enchantment.
I have been involved with shooting and guns for many years. But only recently have delved into military weapons. I am sure that I will have many questions in the future. Right now I am trying to find information about a P-38, it either has a nickel finish or a chrome finish. I was told that the Kriegsmarine did this to weapons to prevent corrosion. I can find no reference to anything like this - has anyone seen a reference or is the gun just a refinish.
Initial Message Rquirement
I've have tried twice to comply with the first posting requirement, but somehow it hasn't stuck. Evidently, I've done something wrong. Here goes again.
I bring you greetings. I'm interested in the 1911, the M1 Garand, the M1 Carbine, and the M14. I have an understanding of history which is why I appreciate those Life covers showing US troops. I trained on the M14 and when issued an M16 in Vietnam --- my immediate impression was.. "What is this?"
Based on my experience, I'm biased in favor of the .45, the 30-06, and the 7.62 x 51 (308). I am biased against the 9 mm and the 223. Being consistent with NATO and being able to carry more rounds strikes me as a poor tradeoff, if it takes more rounds to bring the enemy down.
My current pet peeve is the complaint that is widely circulating to the effect that the M1 Garand's enbloc clip makes a ping when it is ejected. Evidently it hasn't occurred to folks that in the middle of a firefight, nobody hears the ping over everything else that is going on --- the artillery, the mortars, the 30 cal machine guns, the BARs, and 1903 Springfields. The ping is lost in background.
Here to Learn from Fellow Users of Historic Firearms
Hello Everyone. Swedish Mausers are my biggest interest so far. One M96 1910 was my
first. Then I found out about the M38 and then I could'nt stop so I got a 1941,1942 another
1942 & 1943. Still looking for a 1944. Just recently a Savage Enfield became mine. I have a
interest in reloading for these. Looking forward to learn more about these.
Happy Trails
New Garand, time to get involved
Greetings to all,
Received a James River Armory Garand for my 60th birthday. Certainly never expected to own such a rifle. Now I am trying to absorb as much information as I can. I specifically wish to load my own ammo. Started reloading with my dad at age 13 but by no means pretend to be an expert. I do know that I will be most careful and exact when preparing cases and working up a reputable recipe for this firearm, nothing hot but as accurate as I can make it. Thank you to all whose posts I have been perusing and from which I have been gleaning information.

new member JED-IA says Hi!
64 year old nw Iowa farmboy who started enjoying military surplus firearms with a Sears 95 Mauser sporter in 1963 still owns and uses various affordable military originals and two sporters---a Longbranch 303 and a 95 Chilean 7x57. Far from an expert, I always enjoy learning more and do have a soft spot for South American mausers and Mosin Nagants and SKS rifles.
Hello my fellow Mil-Surp collectors!!!
It is a pleasure to know that there are others out there who have the same interests in collecting mil-surp rifles. The history behind each rifle, the quality of craftsmanship, and the joy in shooting them is something you can't get out of a brand new hunting rifle!!!
My passion lies with the rifles of WWII. I have a CMP Garand, a No. 4 Lee-Enfield, a MAS 36, a 98k, at T99 Arisaka, and an M44 Mosin Nagant. I also have an M1A (my father carried an M14 in Vietnam; truly it is the Cadillac of battle rifles). I look forward to great conversation with all of my fellow collectors and shooters!!!
