I first met the M1 carbine about 40 years ago, when a friend got one from the CMP (or whatever it was called in those days) for $20. I finally just got my own from the CMP a couple of weeks ago. It cost a bit more than $20, even allowing for inflation, but it is sure worth it.
I'm not into milsurp that much really, I just like the M1 a lot. Thanks for running a great website.
Very new to this, forums and typing

Hey everybody, another transplant. The new site looks great. I usually tend to stay into the US mil surplus- so far a m1903, m1917, m1, a couple(4) m1carbines, m1a, ar's and a few others, look forward to the future chats

Hello all, it's been a long while since I visited this wonderful site. Attending a gun show this last month has got me interested in my old service rifles. My son and I share a small collection of older rifles such as Garands, carbines, and Moisin-Nagants. What brought me here today was to seek information for an Armalite AR-18 that was given to me by my father-in-law. His dad apparently knew some folks that worked in the Armalite factory in Costa Mesa in the 60's. He was a police officer in that part of California during the 60's as well.
Hello gentlemen (and any ladies that might be out there) -
Just fell off the turnip truck here - about as new as they come.

Special interest in weapons and their design - simply following the idea of "form follows function" - nothing there without a reason.
Looking forward to learning from you -
