Hi,
I am a new member and tried to make a donation to the web site fund by selecting "Make contribution using Paypal". Once there I selected the option of paying directly without logging into Paypal. They have flagged my credit cards since 2 yrs ago when Paypal "banned me for life" for taking payment for firearm related merchandise for my Gunbroker account. I asked everyone who wanted to use Paypal to pay for auction items to please be "descrete" since Paypal is "Anti-Gun" and this worked fine for 3 yrs until one of my auction winners wrote Gunbroker when he submitted payment to me. Paypal froze my account, sent me a few nasty emails which said I was "Banned for Life", & they intially said they were going to keep all funds in my account. Only after months of back & forth emails with me having to get to a point where I threatend to "sue them in court" did they finally relent and mail me the balance in my account (Minus Paypal Fees) of course. Which brings me to a couple of questions; Is there anyway I can make my contribution without having to use Paypal? & Why would this site which is built more or less on the "Right to Bear Arms" & Honoring & Preserving this Right, & Protecting/Preserving great historical firearms that enabled us to have these Freedoms & Rights ever want to Financially Support by doing business with Paypal who is Anti-Gun?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,

Hello to all members from NW Montana,
Hi to all members. Recently getting into some MILSURP Rifles. Interest picked up with recent purchase of FN49's (Venezuelan 7x57). Now the fun starts!
Need to locate or reload some ammo. Any suggestions?
I will be doing a lot of listening and hope to meet the fine people who give this information on this shooting/collecting area.
Hi all... Found this forum recently when I started getting a strong urge to pick up an M1 carbine, like the one I used to carry back when I was an AP. Interested in reloading for the .30 carbine, as well...
Yes, another new member here. I found this site while researching info I needed to do a proper trigger job on a friend's Garand. I may not post very often, as I try to only add comments on subjects I actually know something about, but I will be lurking and learning.
Thank you all for the knowledge presented here! George

Hello all
Always enjoyed milsurps, but now getting more time to spend on them.
Sent in my first CMP order, will be consuming old threads so I dont ask you cagey veterans
too many standard noob questions.
I am new to the board, coming in with 3 milsurp weapons that I retrieved from my dad about 1 year ago. He owned them since the mid '60's.
There is a RR M1911A1 in extremely good condition, except for light frame scratches at the slide release, for obvious reasons. I now shoot it occasionally, clean it and generally treat it like a favorite grandchild.
There are two rifles that are not so good. They, along with some nice civilian rifles and shotguns, were apparently stored for some time in conditions that allowed them to corrode and build up other crud. I can hardly talk about a Winchester M12 shotgun that was originally purchased new from the factory by his grandfather, including a factory custom cut stock. It is now useless.
Anyway, There is an M1 carbine with mild bubba-ing that has cleaned up fairly well. I can replace the parts that were damaged. I do have to contend with significant barrel rust and a little light rust at the feed ramp. I am approaching the barrel rust very conservatively. However, if the pitting is too nasty, I may rebarrel it with an appropriate replacement. The results should be a fine rifle that looks good. I will not do anything, except for giving it a good cleaning and lube until I have thoroughly researched it.
The heart breaker is the M1903, Mark I. I remember it when Dad got it about 45 years ago. It was in very good surplus condition. A lot of cosmoline, with little wear on the finish and a stock with light dings, but otherwise very good. My dad can be blamed for handing it over to a 16 year old to "sporterize" and I can be blamed for doing the damage. Pile the fore mentioned corrosion on it and it is now pretty much junk. I cannot bring myself to say what was done to it, but suffice to say, I will likely strip the good parts off of it and offer them for sale at some point. They will not include the barrel, receiver and stock.
Anyway, there is some exceptional information on this site, and I really appreciate the knowledge and good manners that I see throughout it. I am looking forward to using it as a springboard to bring the carbine back to life and perhaps help someone out with their '03.
