Hello all, just signed up to the forum. Looks like a lot of great information to be had on this site.I have a modest collection of new and old handguns. I would say 18 to 20 at last count. I would have to say my two Colts, one old and one older are my pride and joy. A short limited history may be in order as not to bore you on my first post. My old Colt and I were born in the same year 1942 and not to great a distance from each other. Me in historic Boston, him in Hartford Conn. I am of Irish descent. He or she is a Colt 1911A1 who loves to be held in a hand that it seems to be mated too. My older Colt is a model 1860 .44cal. revolver. The s/n tells me the year of birth was 1862. She has a nice silver-grey patina, action works fine, serial numbers all match. I would like to know a lot more about this old Colt. I hope many in the forum will be able to fill in the blanks for such a great piece of history. Thanks for being here. Be well...Tony

Hi, I am P. Andersen from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and I have been collecting and trading military surplus guns and memorabilia for about 40 years. Very keen on the conflicts from mid 19th century to the end of WW2
Hello everyone.
I am a retired Canadian Infantry Sgt, and a wee bit of a history buff. I have over the years collected a wide array of miscellaneous crap that I thought was neat at the time, and now just clutters my life. I am looking to sell most of it, but have very little idea as to value...
I have a No.7 Rifle transit chest, in fair condition;
also a short (39") Bren Gun transit chest in good shape but repainted;
a plastic ammo carrier for two 84mm Carl Gustav RAP rounds; and
a plastic ammo carrier for four 60mm mortar rounds.
Anyone who wants these items and/or has a clue as to what they are worth is welcome to pm me.
Thank you
New Guy just want to say hi.

Hi am new here, love all things .303 SMLE, have just started picking up a few rifles, and now because of my Surname am gaining an interest in Ross Rifles.
Great Site, full of knowledgeable people
Hello all. I'm a long time collector and hobbiest. 30+ years experience. Former ACW and WW2 reenactor and armorer. I still work on reenactor weapons and am well versed in most everything from matchlocks to MG-42's. I blank-adapt weapons and custom load blank ammunition. I ran across this site while searching for an extractor for a 1912 Steyr-Hahn that is being blanked. Looks like a fun site.
Hi everybody! looks like I'm the last noob on the scene right now..
I'm from Italy, I'm a student in mechanical engineering and I've always been fascinated by technical aspect of military vehicles and weapons.
I found the forum while searching for Bren lmg blueprints... Commercial airsoft replicas are waaaaay too expensive, so I would really like to see what it would mean to try and build a softair replica.
I'm sure it will be a really nice time on the forum!
I've cruised the site a bit and decided it time to sign up, as I have the occasional question that research can't answer. I have a couple of unique Mausers, a sportered P-17, CAR-15 SP1, K-98, and an FN commercial sporter. The unique ones are a new unfired MAS 45A still in partial cosmoline gauze, and a DSM34 which was used by the Hitler Youth in the city of Jena, State of Thuringen, and is so stamped on the stock. I'm in need of a couple of parts for the 34 which I'll be putting out queries for soon along with pictures.
A short bio; late 60's, retired but still hunt and fish when I can, build the occasional piece of furniture, have my private pilots license and fly SEL, and love to tinker on just about anything that moves.
Only if you will forgive our near total ignorance of your beautiful language. I tried to find Coursac on my Michelin map, but it was not listed. I've visited Paris several times and taken holidays in the Perigord Noir around Beynac and Sarlat. Beautiful area and wonderful food.
Im looking for ww2 arsenals during ww2,and the meaning of the letters on the stocks of rifles that through these rebuilds.I had a list but canot find it!I have a m1 carbine with TE on stock,I have no idea what that stands for.thanks,terry.
New member. I've been collecting/shooting military firearms for over 30 years. Enjoy shooting in DCM Highpower Rifle Matches. Just bought a Remington 1903A3 for the bolt action matches. Waiting on it's arrival.

First time on here! I am not sure where to go to post 2 items I have to sell.
Found this board while researching Combat Shotguns. I like what I see. Transplanted Aussie who served 6 years U.S. Army and married a West Texas girl who shoots like Annie Oakley. All three kids are fully trained.
nice site!
Hello everyone! :beerchug:
New one here. I bought my first non rimfire one year ago. It is a ROF No4.MkII & i love to shoot whit it. Actually, i was "taken over" - so next one in .303 (Lithgow SMLE) is on the way.

PS - I hope you will have patience with my "G***le Translate" English :(
heya folks, been browsing for a while, lurking around the lee enfield sections. I've got a No1mk3*, an M91/30, a Lithgow model 1B s/s .22 and a browning Bl-22. Loving that Bulgarian surplus 7.62x54r right now!
Just wanted to stop by and say hello from NE Ohio. I'm a U.S.Navy vet. Also an avid shooter looking to expand my collection . So HELLO and hope I can contribute!
I have recently registered and am looking forward to all the info I can on the M14/M1A. I found this forum very educational in this regard. George Patton once said that the M1 was the best battle rifle ever, but he was not introduced to the M14. -Virginia resident.
Hi Folks
I'm pleased to be a new member and look foward to this wealth of information. I've been a shooter and collector of sorts for a long time and find the forums most interesting.
Hello! New member here. I've been collecting/shooting military bolt actions for awhile. I currently have enfields, springfields, mausers, and an arisaka. I look forward to using this forum to increase my knowledge of these rifles.

Hello from Central, WI. Just found this site this morning. Been collecting for about 5 years. I have mostly mosins, but a little of everthying else. Looking forward to another source of information about guns.
Hello to all: Name is Bill from Minnesota. I collect all types of guns and lately have been acquiring Yugo and Czech mausers. My latest addition is a #4 MK1 Enfield from SOG. It arrived very well preserved in cosmo-GOOD!!! All cleaned up and am amazed at the smoothness of the Enfield action. Have quite a few Mosin-Nagants and a lot of handguns-autos and wheelguns. Love my cz52s,M57s, and Polish Toks. Glad to be a member hear and hope to have some interesting exchanges of ideas.
Hi all, New here, started collecting about 35 years ago with an old Carcano.
New to this site, looking for a good to excellent 1917 stock to replace the broken one on my rifle, not really interested in aftermarket ones.
Anyone have any expierience with the bullpup stock for a M1A? Considering one to put on a Fed Ord M1A I picked up, think they look pretty slick. Could also use a couple of spare mags as well.
Thanks to all who have served!!!

Hi, all. This is my first post on what looks like a really interesting site.
I have been collecting and shooting various military weapons, on and off, for nearly forty years. I have gotten a lot more serious about it in the last twenty or so.
I started out with Mausers and soon realized there were just too many of them so narowed it to carbines and short rifles. A couple of the favorites, among the ones I have, are a KAR 71 and a Peruvian Model of 1935.
I also collect S&W revolvers and other single shot military rifles.
Looking forward to being more involved in my hobbies now that I am retired. Been in the world of collecting WWII weapons for 20 years and enjoy collecting M-1 Carbines, M-3's, M-4's, 1911-A1's, M-1 Garand's, and 1903-A3's. Will be setting up a small display of M-1 Carbine's at the Alabama Gun Collector's Association March 26th and 27th in Birmingham, Alabama. Tommy Phillips and Jim Brandt will also be displaying some of their Carbines. This show will be the AGCA's Militaria show with plenty of things to see.
Collect to preserve,
Doug Yates
Hello,
New member here. Have a 1943 M1 Carbine, 1898 Krag "Rifle/Carbine", and a 1920 Commercial DWM Alphabet Luger which I am doing research on. Inherited them from my Dad and now learning more about them.
Joined yesterday. Have an Enfield #5 "Jungle" Carbine purchased in 1964 as new surplus, fired it less than 100 rds since. Also an M1903 Springfield, a "low" numbered Rock Island that was given to me, likely not to be fired. Currently one month into my wait for a CMP Springfield Garand. U.S.A.F. 1966-70.
Hello everyone, Just checking in on the forum. Look forward to learning from you all.
Hi:
While I've been watching this forum for awhile, I've never posted before & found that I have to post a message in order to send a pm to other members. Well, here is my first post.
Although I haven't collected milsurps for about 30 years (my passion is now commercial Lee Speed sporters), I do have a Bonehill conversion Martini that I need to locate a few parts for.
Greetings from snow covered Ottawa, Ontario.
Have just registed to this site as I need to increase my technical knowledge on the 'toys' that I own.
Am soon to retire so can dedicate more time to my hobbies (once the kids are thru University), which are military vehicle restoration, WWII arms and uniforms, and of course target shooting - when in the military, I had the pleasure of neing and RSO and a SA coach, mind you the Howitzers were not something we laid down next to and spotted the shot.
Am looking forward to being a member.
Regards
Jeepdude
...thought I best join as my ears kept burning
Hope to put a few real names to user names & work out who is who...

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here. Ex Army medic and bitten by the milsurp bug badly three years ago. I love history that you can actually hold and use. I am currently working on an MBA in healthcare administration and try to get to the range as often as I can. I have been reading this forum for a long time and decided to join.
As a new member I would like to say hi to everyone.I have been a shooter and collector for 30
years and I am a member of the HBSA.I shoot and collect mainly Lee enfields and early
American cartridge weapons.
Hi
just a quick introduction I have been collecting enfield service rifles for about ten years have some space left in the cabinets so still on the look out for more!
Been collecting milsurps on a low level, occasional basis for over 40 years. My favorite is a Springfield '03-A4 which I got from a WW2 vet (Marine) who got several days on bread and water for trying to take it home when he was discharged in 1946. Surprisingly, when he was released from the brig, they gave him back all his belongings including the Springfield.

Discovered your site sometime into the third hour of trying to get a new hammer spring installed on my M1 Carbine. Was able to pick up some tips which led to a successful finish. I seriously thought I was going to be at it all night long--thanks for the assistance......JKL
I've been occasionally lurking for a while now, and after several reminders, I figured I should not just sit on the sidelines.
I have a meager collection of five Service Grade CMP M1's, 2 of them built up from barreled receivers when parts weren't so pricey. Interests include Shooting, hunting, handloading, fishing, etc.
I don't spend a whole lot of time on forums, as I'm way behind on loading ammo and getting in some all too infrequent trigger time, but I'm looking forward to the occaisional discussion if I have something worthwhile to contribute.
Any old-timer CMP forum members here?? I lost track of JohnEB and a few other old-timers after we stopped posting on the old CMP forum. I'd love to hear from them.
Have a great day all!
Dave
Hello,
I attached a picture of the extractor and frame from a used 1911A1 that I purchased. Not sure about the blob of metal on the end of both. Should it look like that? When assembled the rear end of the extractor wiggles like a fish.

Hello,
I'm a new member to the site. I recently retired, and I hope to get more involved in collecting WWII items.
I really enjoy finding an item, especially things I had years go, but was dumb enought to sell instead of keeping.

Hello, I'm just signing in as a new member, lots of great info here.kberch
Hi I just signed up also and saw you asking about ammo. If you're interested I have 13 boxes of M72 match 30/06 ammo to sell. These are unopened white boxes of 20 rounds each of Lake City M72,marked LC65 with 173 gr FMJ bullets, velocity is 2640. These were used in the Garand for Match Ammo as well as sniper ammo. Being 100th anniversary this year, I had to get a 1911.

Gotta love these guns!!!
Hello, all! I'm Matthew, and although I'm fairly knowledgable about Glocks, AR15, and Remington 870 shotguns, I know very little about older military platforms. I hope to change that, particularly because my Dad has asked me to help him sell some old trainers he has. So, yeah, I'm here to get help! I appreciate anything that goes bang, and intend to raise my 6 kids to do the same!
Thanks!
Greetings from a new member. I recently purchased a gun store and although I am very familiar with new firearms, I lack any expertise in military surplus. I look forward to learning and sharing pieces that walk into my store. I am also very impressed with the diversity of this forum with members from all over the world:thup:
Hi All,
I can't believe I have been collecting Milsurps and just now found out about this site. I hope someone can summarize everything that has been covered in one posting.:p
LOL. Just kidding. I know there is a lot of knowledge here and I will probably ask some stupid questions, but I am so fascinated with the Milsurps. I so very much appreciate our past and present service and the people who have made this country so great. It is sad to hear the numbers of lost war service men and women. Thank you all for allowing us to enjoy this free democracy. The best of our country is in the History. Maybe we can make a good future as well.:)
God Bless you all,
Huckleberry
G'Day to all from Australia
This is the first forum I have been a member of so I apologise in advance as i try to find my way. Living in the bush I have grown up with guns and hunting, also competing in most shooting disciplines at various levels. Apart from the usual hunting rifles, target rifles, shotguns and pistols, I love to collect and shoot military rifles and pistols. At present I find that I am accumulating Australian,Canadian,US and UK Enfield's,P14's,M17's,1903's and 1911's.
Life could be worse!
Cheers
Been lurking here for a bit, I am a long time Garand collector (20 plus yrs.) not added to the collection for a while. Also got the Walther bug, mostly PP with a PPK or two thrown in. For now I am a resident of NH, ( a third world part of the USA) that may change, hopefully soon.
Lots of good reading in here so far. Regards to all,, Jeff T.
Good afternoon to all! I am an active police officer in Texas and owner of a couple of old military weapons. I have always been a military history buff and stumbled across this website while researching one of my weapons. I found the site very interesting and informative.
I look forward to talking with everyone about the weaponry which has shaped the world as we know it.
First time user on the site, looks interesting. Love collecting old

Hi folks,
Ex-Army cavalry officer in Missouri. Been lurking and learning from this forum and others for some time, but just bought my first WWII Garand (almost totally correct too!) and knew I had to join up. Trying to collect milsurp US Army primary handguns and long guns from Civil War to present. Got the bug recently when I found out the Walther PP I got from my grandfather is actually a rare first year Reichsbank model. Hooked from then on. Also have a RR 1911A1, CZ75, and going today to pick up a Beretta 92F!
Hope to have years of fun with you guys! (I'll be writing from the poor house I'm sure...)
Mike
Hi, i'm a grandson of WW11 vet looking for info on a treasured trophy and stories from others in similar situation. Also, looking for accessories avail in Canada if possible. My grandfather was with Ontario Tank reg't and took from captured German an M1 carbine made by GM in 4 - 44. This was after the "Battle of the Bulge" and I understand many arms drops were made which inevitably resulted in German soldiers using allied weapons out of necessity.
I hope i don't have to be too paranoid here knowing our totally f@#ked up laws, don't want suits or uniforms knocking on my door if you know what i mean. cheers!
I'm new to milsurp and looking for answers to questions I have reguarding a Ross 1910 M-10 MKIII in .303 cal. It was given to me about two weeks ago by a friend who "inheirited" it, and didn't want to ..."mess around with some old war gun...!!!" Any help will be greatly appreciated !
Hello All! I am new to the forum and look forward to learning from everyone here. I have been collecting chopped up/Buba'ed :move eek::move eek::move eek:Mauser rifles for years as an inexpensive basis for gunsmith projects. Recently I have found several SMLE's that needed some help to be restored. My latest interest is the Martini's. Hope to find some soon.
Thanks,
Hello to all. I joined here awhile back, but never spent any time here on milsurps. I hope to learn all I can.
I own a few surplus rifles and have had a few issues, but that goes with the nature of old and used fire arms.
Cheers for now MK
