If it is in original configuration I would try to restore it after giving it a shot to see if it has any accuracy in it at all. If the barrel is completely shagged then maybe a replacement is in order but I like the idea of something a little rough and restored which shows some history.

Sure... youll be surpised thought, its almost "in the white". 50 bucks is more like 90 once the dealer and VICPOL gets their share, as well as a hot blue job, but we'll see how we go

at least you can plug away at it and not throw a heap of $$ at it in one hit. Of course, if you want to get rid of it ... hehehehe

Nah, the .410 ive got needs this companion next to him in the safe. Its a shame because the bore is excellent except for this rusty bit, but he last 2 -3 inches of rifling still looks good, so i may be in luck yet. I mean, i did have a shot out of it and it seemed to do ok, but then i cleaned it.... the bore looked a lot better when it was filthy

Ive cleaned the woodowork up on it, Minwax and 000 steel wool, fthe BLO'd the heck out of it, finished with a very light wipe with some 800gret wet/dry while the oil was still on.

I dont think i will worry about the barrel, rusty bits and all....

45 grn highlander ammo at 50m. The aiming mark is about 4cm by 4cm, which is fine for scopes but with my dodgy eyesight i struggled to see it. I'm sure a better shot will reduce the horizontal dispersion quite a bit. The second string on the right is a mate of mine who has never shot open sights before, while he had verticle stringing he had bugger all horizontal dispersion.

Theres a good group hiding in their somewhere, i can feel it.

looks good and looks to be accurate enough. If you reload for it you might be able to squeeze more from it. I have no idea about the accuracy potential of the enfield hornet so it will be interesting to watch.

some where in the forums is a post by son, says his hornet shoots a thumbnail size group at 50 meteres
