Bill, when I was done the regular army I went to Armoured Car for 5 years. I started with Loomis and was carrying a Mod 10-10 HB. I went to a small company for day work only and I had a Mod 15, because no one else wanted it. They thought it would explode if you fired +P out of it. OK says I, I'll have that one. What a nice gun.

Our department is still using S&W model 66 revolvers. They told us we were going to the Glock 22 over a year ago. But California is so broke I don't think it will ever happen.

My favorite commercial rifle is/was a TC Model 87 "Hunter" (single-shot) with a barrel in .308Win. I bought the rifle with a view to adding extra barrels; got it in the 'magnum' configuration that would allow both 'standard' and 'magnum' caliber barrels to be used. Odd-ball kind of rifle I bought on a whim many years ago and just recently gave to my youngest son out in ID after I lost function in my left arm. At the bench the rifle was a 'deliberate' sort of thing; break action like a shotgun for those who don't know the rifle.

A good friend of mine had one of those in .308 in the '80s. Also an XP100 fireball. Both in pistol form. What a handful for one handing. I don't recall hitting much.

The Thompson/Center Hunters weren't made very long were they? It's been years since I've even heard of one. Saw a few when they first came out, but that's about it. Seem to remember a recall or something.
