C’est magnifique, mais ce n’est pas la guerre.. can't remember the rest of the line...
P.E Island........Anne of Green Gables, seems strange that a bloke like me would read that series..........my sister put me onto one book about the war, read the lot from beginning to end, actually enjoyed them.
Well I have been here since 1974 saw the play once when I work in the confederation center of the arts as a drama instructor.
If you ever come to PEI drop in but come in the summer. I'm 5 min from the beach.
We have winter right now and it *%&%&%^*^*%&&& in CAPS
Winter here is for the Hockey Gladiators who hit each other with a stick. LOL
Well I behind my in my retrofit. The extractor springs for the Enfield are some where in the mail.
Another BLIZZARD TODAY and to much snow to blow out. So now my shoot testing range in my back yard, is flooded with snow cannot get to it.
Hard year this year for my snow blowers and my body.
This is the third Blizzard in 10 days.
Cheers

Are you building a sporter here or restoring a 'Long Lee'?
If you're building a sporter, depending on your skills and interest level, you could convert to a tang safety, but the most worthwhile change would be to a two stage trigger as per SMLE.
The muzzle brake doesn't fit with a "Lee Speed" type sporter, but what exactly are you building here?
===================================
I'm building ( REBUILDING) components of a 303 rifle to be able to shot one accurately.
I'm not into old antique keep it as it was for prosperity.
I never had a 303, never fired one, so now I have a chance to do one that takes some doing,
with out worry of keeping anything original.
So let me just say this. ( some one built these things, someone, and many modified it, some one created it.
Now there is me.
I'm just looking for a one shot accurate 303 shooter using what I have on hand.
A barrel is a barrel, a receiver is a receiver, and a bolt is a bolt. Then you have your projectile and powder.
Anyone can call it want they want, put there log stamp on it , a bunch of numbers, but in the end,
we have a rifle, that shots a bullet or what ever.
No offense to Enfield enthusiast, I just like working on firearms.
As for the muzzle break, flash arrest-er, etc, I have been making and using them on
all my pistol, rifles.
They reduce the flash, they give more control of the handling of the instrument.
All this in my humble opinion.
I do appreciate everyone input and questions. Questions are good for though.
Keeps us thinking.
Right now I thinking about going out and removing snow after I have my coffee, from yesterdays snow fall.
3 blizzard's in 10 days lots of snow.
I have 3 walk behind snow blowers, an arsenal, one stops I reload another one.
KEEP SHOOTING SNOW LONG RANGE. hAHAHA
Lots of ammo ( snow ) lots of repellant (GAS) three man army my two German Shepherds and me.
Cheers Rifle is on hold for now

Quick question
Long morning 4 hours behind my walk behind snow blower.

Ah, I remembered the line:
"C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la guerre: c'est de la folie"
======================================
Do you mean this.
It is splendid, but it is not war: it is madness '
I do not know french I asked my parrot to translate.
Everyone should have a parrot.
But what are you taking about any way.
We are at war every day every minute of our life on the planet.
Stupid humans they have not learned yet.
