As Peter says, it will hurt your pocket when a Canadian Mk3 does appear. However, it will almost certainly be worthwhile in (more) correctly completing your rifle. Lee Enfield knows more about this than me & will no doubt put us all right if needs be, but I think a 1945 Canadian Mk2 scope would more likely be from a late batch 71L rifle. To the best of my knowledge ALL of the 90L rifles were scoped up with Mk3's.
I think it's entirely up to you what to do in the meantime - a UK Mk3 or a Canadian Mk2 - I personally don't think it matters too much.
I would also back up the request for a few photo's of your scope bracket, as I'm sure with the collective knowledge on this forum any mysteries concerning it will soon be resolved.
