In '66 & '67 at BES in Hollywood, we had liberty cards that could be had after liberty call was announced. Spent the last several weeks there as a CPL and I still had to have one to get off base.

MCRD San Diego. Platoon 1052 #2310994. Summer of 1966, 30 days after graduating high school. I couldn't wait to get off that John Deere tractor and do something fun and exciting. Imagine my surprise when the first person to greet me on arrival at MCRD was someone I had never met, but who seemed to know so many negative things about my heritage and my alleged relationships with farm animals!
P.I.,Platoon 185 7-66. The only wooden barracks still standing in the 1st Batt. area, first level squadbay next to the mess hall. Anyone else lap the 1st Batt. parade field 20 times with one boot on and one off? Funnnnnn!!!! Hey Mike 33, where was 3/3 in 68 ? I was with 1/3 aboard the USS IwoJima and I know 2/3 was on the USS Cleveland. We were part of a BLT force. :super::madsmile::super::dancingbanana::bash::bitc h:
