Thanks there truly is something delightful about it.
I have to say I feel that the Garand is a sweeter shooter than my M1A. So much recoil energy disappears that is perceived with the M1A for some reason. Maybe it's a weight issue, I'm not sure.
I always full length all of my brass because I have multiple rifles of each caliber. There aren't enough hours in the day to segregate which rounds are for which rifles. Maybe one day I'll go that far but not right now.

Took the Garand to the range again and remembered to take a picture of a target.
This is at 100 yards basically no wind < 5 mph.
Center target is 2 clips through the Garand.
Smaller targets are Savage 99 and 10/22 both scoped.
My over 60 year old eyes and open sights on an over 60 year old rifle using over 50 year old ammo and offhand hold, not great but not bad.
I really enjoy shooting this rifle it's becoming my favorite range toy.
What can I say I'm hooked on the ping.

when trying to bring-back a stock to life, I cut my raw linseed oil 50% with mineral spirits. It helps it penetrate deeper. I slather it on in the evening, hang it up for an hour while we have dinner, wipe off the excess with a clean rag, and leave it hang overnight. Repeat for 3-5 nights in a row. Then, I do the same but undiluted, let it sit for a week and then assemble. Once a year then I take the action out of the wood, and do a coat with 50% mineral spirits.
