I have been collecting WW 1 and WW 2 firearms for fifty years. Lately I have been selling some items and turning the money into reloading supplies so I can enjoy shooting these old but fun to shoot guns of the past, mostly with cast bullets.
Punching holes in paper and knocking things down can bring joy to an older retired person.
hi everyone.i'm not only a new member but also new to milsurp shooting and collecting.i picked up a chinese sks that is in real good shape and shoots pretty good.i'm looking at buying a swiss k-31,swedish m96,swedish m/1938 or a finnish m91/30 or finnish m39.maybe you guys can help me decide which one to get first.i'm looking at accuracy and being well built.i'm looking forward to talking with you...P.S this is my first thread and i'm also fairly new to computers.
Interest in mostly modern stuff with the exception of DCRA converted No4's to 7.62mm, I'd consider myself a restorer of DCRA's rather than a collector, love to shoot them as well. Myself & a few members of Canadian Gunnutz have cataloged & tracked down more than 200+ DCRA converted No4's, mostly Longbranch's so far, there is lots more outhere!
Also have a slight like on Swedish M38 Mausers :)

Greetings from France. I'm 49 and have bought my first milsurp in 1976 (a M43 Spanish Mauser) ... and I still own it. France's gun laws at the time didn't make it easy to own a surplus rifles. After having traveled around the world, I've settled back to France some years ago and decided to take these nice things out of their crate and to bring them to the range. Nowdays, it's easier to purchase and keep a surplus rifle and that's nice !

Just joined and doing some research. Current Milsurp includes a Lee Enfield No5 Mk1 (F) and a Chinese SKS.
Grew up carrying a No4 in the CCF and looked after L42's and L1A1 as company armourer for a while.
Only here to find out about a RIA 1903 Serial # 6242. Have found out it was manufactured 1903. This has a sporterized stock, recoil pad and civilian sights. front sight is screwed to barrel and hides a 'B_ _', and under that is a '9_ _5'. This rifle was given to me in 1961( I was 15) by a retiring salmon fisherman in Juneau Alaska. Have read conflicting stories on soundness of the rifle and am seeking some knowledge. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm a new user, from Houston, Texas. I recently inherited a number of military surplus rifles from my brother, and I am trying to get them back into usable shape. I'm fairly experienced with guns of the Old West.
:cheers:I've interested in owning a Garand for ages and finally bought on a few months ago and I joined looking for help and advice about it's history, locating a possible replacement correct stock and my next addition, an M1 carbine. 1st thing I would like to find out is where did the rifle go after it left Springfield Armory in June of 1942. Is there anyone that can direct me to help in this search?:confused:
