Hello everybody,
My name is Hans slagter,My interest goes out to surplus firearms and shooting these
in competition.
Thank you all.
With friendly regards.
Hans slagter.
Howdy to all the guys and girls out there in Milsurp land. Been a member for awhile now but have never posted anything on the site.
I pop in for a visit every now and then when I get the email reminder. Most of my free time is spent either managing one of the forums I look after in South Africa or attending commity meetings for the clubs I belong to when I am not out in the bush hunting or on the range.
A round of applause to you all for keeping up a excellent site.
I am very active in the following clubs here in South Africa [click on link to see more]
Just want to introduce myself.
My name is J.T. Smith, I'm a Vietnam Vet, and Military history buff.
Love to collect and view old military hardware.
Just call me JT.
Hello All,
Been shooting since age 17, deer stalking, long range plinking, the odd competition. Been a one-rifle chap for all tasks for the last 7 years or so using an AW across the board.
Suddenly got an itch to get a No4(T) put together to have a bash at the McQueens. Not willing or able to spend the money that originals go for, so just starting out learning the new (to me!) language of 'pads' and 'brackets' and trying to navigate my way through the various repro options.
Matt
Hello all! I've have been a military collector for many years now. I own and shoot M1 Garrand, M1 carbine, M1A, 1903A3, AR, M4, K98, AK 47, SKS, P38, .45 ACP and various non military rifles and pistols. Served in the USN and now just enjoying life. First, when I figure out how to use the site, I want to post photos and ask questions concerning the 1903A3.
This seems to be a great sight and I "lurked" a bunch before finally signing up. I have recently returned to Shooting as a Hobby. I really love the historic rifles and Revolvers. I got a Mosin-Nagant rifle and will soon get the revolver--I am reloading and this site was very helpful in pointing me in the right direction for bullets. Thanks.
Hi,
I found this site from a search on Google, looking for a 1916 Mauser rear barrel band.
I haven't really looked around, but will to see what's going on. I've got a couple milsurps, but nothing fantastic, a few 91/30's, the Mauser, a CZ82(don't know if that's considered milsurp, but it is C&R).
I'm going to have a look at the RIFLES looking for misc parts thread and see if I can lend with any of the parts I have. And I'll make my own post there too.
It doesn't have to be correct for the rifle as long as it fits and keeps the hand guard in place.
Thanks for reading.
Hi all....
Just picked up my first 1903a3 today.... decided to join to get some info on it, and see if I got a good deal or not. I'll be lurking to try and learn as much as possible but from what I can tell I have a Remington 1903a3 manufacture date was somewhere around 1-44(according to a source on another forum.... I'll be needing to verify this) and barrel is stamped 12-43. (bore is in EXCELLENT CONDITION) Markings appear to be correct on this rifle. I believe the stock was either refinished or replaced as there are only faint markings in front of the magazine, and a lightly showing "US" on the buttstock.
So I'll be lurking for a while trying to figure her out.
Hi everybody,
New here. Just started my collection with a 1945 Swiss K31. Planning to add a Swedish Mauser and Mosin Nagant soon.
Cheers,
Wiking
