Newby and retired Navy Chief
Hello,
I have just started collecting surplus guns. I just retired this year from the Navy after 23 years enjoying my retirement.

Original "C" Stock upgrade
Hello all,
I'm a FNG to this site. Just wondering if anyone knows who made the "original" C stocks for the 1903 A3. I'm aware of American Bowling and Billards, Keystone and Springfield, but does anyone know if Smith Corona made them? Northridge International Inc, claims they have NOS type 13's made by SC (?) that's a new one on me. They say there are no marks or stamps on them due to never being issued and I can see that being correct. Anyway, I want to upgrade from my "OG Utah arsenal redone" stamped scant, and I've heard good things about Northridge, but not sure about this one. Anyway, thanks for any info.

Lee Enfield are my favorite. I'm lucky enough to own a MLE (1896) and keep looking to buy a No4 Mk1* from Long Branch.
Can't have enough rifles.
Hello eveyone. I'm an avid hunter, and a collector of the Enfield rifle. I hope you guys will be able the help me with any questions about what my wife thinks are excentric hobbies. I love this, and really, you can't have too many rifles.
Thanks to those who were so kind in helping me register and hello to all
I am a new member and am happy to be among a group of people with common interest.
I am a veteran with a lot of experiences in the military. After military I taught school, ran a vocational school and then was the director of maintenance in a large school system here in Wv.I grew up on a hillside farm in the 40's and 50's in the coal producing area of Wv where we raised and reaped nature's bounty to set the table.
I want to thank each of you for letting me be a member of an interesting website that gives me an opportunity to share interest and ideas and learn so much that I want t know with the membership. Again thank you. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I'm fairly certain this is my first experience with forums and internet exchanges of this type, so I'm pleased to make everyone's electronic "acquaintance".
My motivation for joining Milsurps.com is that I recently acquired a Ross 1910 Mk III - one of "bucket list" rifles. It's a full military wood specimen and seems to be complete in all respects.
I'm keen to learn more about my new treasure.

Looking to learn about my grampas 303 and was told this is the place. No 4 mk 1 Ser# P291xxA England N19 with a crown under it. R something F stamped on wrist, looks like a C.
1 something 42 also on wrist. 2 lands and 2 grooves.
Its been sporterized. When cleaning there is a spot near the end of the barrel that the brush pushes through real easy, almost like there is a bulge. Then it gets tight again.
Some ammo I reload hits 3 shots in 10 inches as it is. Wall hanger or keep trying.

I have only been collecting surplus rifles for 40+ years. I took the guns out of [one] of my gun safes the other day and took pictures of them to use online. I got a little tearful when I remembered back to what it involved to make these dreams come true. I could not have lived a better life. I realized that each one had its own story. I will post them as time allows.
Can there be a better hobby in life?
Hello everyone I am new to this forum.

Just found this forum and might partake of some of the knowledge here if permitted. I am a carbine owner, my dad traded for one back in the 60's ( I think a 22 pistol). It is a winchester made late war and has adj. site and bayonet. I've looked at all the parts and stock, handguard, all internals are "w" stamped except the trigger which I think has some type of "I" stamp. Been a while since I looked. I think the gun is all original since we've had it for 40+ years. Serial number is late War from what I've seen. Can you all give me some idea of value for the rifle? I love to shoot the thing and am looking forward to reading more on this forum to glean more knowledge. Thanks
