The hardness of the rifle bodies was one of the problems with the P-H offerings. Obviously this didn't (?) affect thge Aust/NZ/Can sniper rifles. Well, to be honest, it was the overall quality of the steel that was the problem. That's according to the civillian Armourer who worked with us. Mind you, neither was the quality of the first tranche of L96 body/bolt material either! But that's another dire story than makes you look at 'proofing' in another way. The P-H L81 target rifle was accurate but just didn't seem to fit into the logistical or even useful chain of requirements - except as a source foir extra 7.62mm ball!
As a little aside, are the sniper mounts and telescopes readily(?) available?
