Agreed,
I need to build a display stand for 1 at a time.
The chair was locked in place though.
For here, it was hot out- mid 80's so I did rush it to keep from dripping sweat all over it.
Later,
Charlie
Well, that one's done - time to look for another one! :super:
Marcus 'The Maze King' offered up a few early WRA photo albums to me.
I'm currently looking at WRA 1,029,951 which is 670 earlier than this 1,030,621.
We've found that his also has that long stem plunger that has been modified.

Here's the Photo Album link I promised to add.
I'm sure more will be added in time, aka sling, keeper, oiler, recoil plate screw...
It may be easiest to click on the 'VIEW ALL' option or slide show, that's up to you.
I tried to Title and describe most pictures.
Towards the back of the album is the early before dis-assembly and cleaning pics. Then moves on to wear patterns and markings as I pulled it apart.
WRA 1,030,621
Edit to remove Dead Photobucket Album Link.

Charlie, that's a great set of pictures of a fantastic Winchester.
Any information (who, what, when, where) on the Serif S marked rear sight?
TIA
John
HP,
I'm trying to study some files passed on from a fellow member, looking over his early WRA carbines.
One is 670 earlier than this one and has 1-43 dated barrel and Block style S.
Another that's 8,157 earlier also has the 1-43 dated barrel, BUT has the Blue Serif S flip.
Mine has a No date barrel.
I ran behind this week, but am trying to get this info to the CC. Hoping I'll get some info about these Serif S marked flips.
I'll post if I find out anything else about the Serif S flips.
Thx,
Charlie-painter777
HP,
I've been trying to find more info about the Serif S marked rear sight, but as of now I don't know about Who, What, When or Where.
But I am only running about 1/4 speed after some work on my back.
Feeling better though and hoping to get my CC Data sheet and picture file sent in to the club this week.
I'll ask and maybe Marty can share some information about the use of these marked rear sights on WRA's.
Cheers,

Thanks for the update Charlie. Heal first, play later. John
Thanks for posting what you did. It was a joy to look at!
