Will not do that for sure, but will search for other wooden grips without those fake marks engraved.
What do you think about these grips ?
WWI SPRINGFIELD model 1905 bayonet GRIPS original WW1 | eBay
Expensive and they don't watch the condition of your bayonet.

Thanks, gsimmons.
I think will be hard to find the proper ones, since as usual most of the ebay dealers don't ship outside USA.
Look other places besides eBay. You might even find a crap bayonet with nice grips at a good price.

Unfortunatly I can't buy a bayonet outside Italy. It's forbidden by our law.
Should buy the crap bayonet and ask the seller to ship me the grips only.
I'd just not worry about it. I've seen these marks before on grips. The 1905 that is. Hard to say, but they are about perfect...
Bizio, why is it forbidden to buy a bayonet outside of Italy? Are they registered or are they being banned from import? Maybe I should bring you down one piece the next time I'm on holiday ;)
That's because import has been banned.
Italian laws are idiot : bayonets must be registered with Police office as any other firearm so that for example I have declared to authorities that I own " x bayonets", no serial number, no model being specified.
Should you bring me down a piece, it would be for me an illegal weapon since without an official documentation stating where the bayonet comes from this could not be registered with Police. This is of course the law.
In the reality I suspect that people is doing anything, bayonets are for example sold illegaly at the local fairs like Militalia in Novegro, close Milan.
