I am working a 3 week maintenance shutdown.... but got Xmas day and today off for a break......
I am continuing to re finish the drivers compartment.
Decided to get on with the wiring in the drivers compartment. Installed the new drivers switchboard and new instrument panel and renewed a the majority of the wiring...coming along nicely..

Are they still pressure charged? Are you going to charge them? The current colour is/was black. I would imagine that they were colour changed to suit current at-the-time safety regs because some of them are/were khaki green
-
Peter,
Yep. their still charged..
-
Paul....., just been told by my other tank pal that it was when they were charged with BCF that they were khaki coloured. Otherwise silver or black with a white band - which I suppose indicates something. These were a job for the CET's or Control Equipment Teccies. Apparently getting into a Cent was the only time they got their hands and overalls dirty.
-
-
No wonder we were always short of Cent spares.......... They were all in Oz! Can we see a pic of the chassis/repair plate? It's a good example of everything being repairable in the workshop. No throw-away, roll-sealed for life kit!

I have to ask, i see fire alarm, is that a button? I assume it starts fire suppression, does it make any noise like an alarm?
-
If I recall correctly, that alarm is like a little horn...quite audible though.

A true labour of passion I am sure the Australian public in general does not know of just how much you have put into this resto and still going, so to you sir I say as a small part of this grateful nation and to all those that have served and continue to serve our nation I doff my hat...........................:super:
