great to hear! yea I was little worried about it having so many different parts and if that took away from it being an original no 5 jungle carbine! I guess on a bright-side it's good that it has seen a lot of action! As long as it's an authentic JC. By the way do you know by chance what bore brush to use in the 303? I've heard 32 but ive also heard 30 is fine also which is what I use now and even the 30 is tight in the 303.
Then your .30 cal is fine...that's what I've always used.
I thought that the original kit would have been a pull-through and 4x2 cloths to the clean the bore? I use a 30 cal BoreSnake though for my No4, No5 and L4 Bren.
So i'm trying to take this rear sight off and I don't see any vertical pin at all..can someone show me what it's supposed to look like? maybe I'm just being stupid cause id assume if I didnt have a pin then the screws would fall out.

This is what my No5 looks like. My No4 looked the same. Maybe both ends of the pin have broken off but it is still enough in the hole to stop the screw head pin sliding, or someone has enlarged the end?
Then give it a tap at the small end and it should move to the right. I don't see a pin but the hole seems closed, it may be shorn off.Quote:
