No.4 (T) for $20 build thread

Finally!! After many attempts, homemade/modified tools, and a lot of swearing, I got another stud out!
All 3 fronts are out and cleaned up with a tap,1 more to go!

Studs are out and the pads fit nicely!
Next will be forend fitment and bracket collimation.

Front pad thumbscrew threads are a little corroded and inhibit the screw, 1/4 26 is of course an uncommon thread....

Try some oil for a bit and then a rifle brush in a drill. Hang onto it as it will advance on you. Steel brushes work better...run it back and forth.

I've soaked it oil and am letting it sit, I didn't think of a rifle brush tho thanks for the tip!

Sounds like about a .22 cal, maybe a proper issue M16 brush. They're thick and durable. It will be garbage after. Grab the bare receiver in a vice if you can, strong grip on the drill, start slow speed.

Awesome thanks, I'll let u know how it goes.

Wrecked a couple brushes trying to get as much corrosion out and can still only get the thumbscrew in about a 1/4 of the way.
I ordered a 1/4x26 tap to finish the job.
