Out of surgery and home, can't see squat out of the right eye yet. I was thinking my left was better at this point but maybe not. Surgery went fast again, I was his ninth. Did not feel like sneezing this time. No pain again.
You’ll be a sharpshooter with iron sights again soon!
LOL, I've never been a sharpshooter with iron sights except with an M-16. Never had trouble with that.
Just back from the post op check up. The surgeon says everything looks great. I could see all but the bottom line on the chart. Eye is still filmy and very dialted so it's not the same as the left yet but I expect it will be in two days. Now to take it easy through the Memorial Day weekend. No heavy lifting or straining. I can drive tomorrow. Sunglasses while outside, a shield over the eye at night for a week. My wife timed it today. 22 minutes from the time they shooed her out of the room till they brought her back in. After they took her out, they put the IV in, some drops and wheeled me down the hall to the OR. After surgery they got me out of the guerney, gave me a snack and a drink which I had finished before she got back so I estimate actual surgery time was 10-12 minutes. Pretty amazing.
Good news.
I can't work today so I decided to do paperwork. My first experience with not being able to see up close. This was instantly frustrating and is going to take some getting used to. I put on the readers I bought two weeks ago and that became a nightmare also. I could see the paper but not the computer screen. So entering the paper into the computer involved taking the glasses off between each step.
I have solved that however with another trip to Walmart and another set of readers. These I can see both the computer screen and the paper with so they will work out much better.
It's just a matter of getting used to things I know.
