Hi all!
I've been a milsurp addict since the early 1980's. My main interest is in Mosin Nagant rifles and carbines but others do occasionally talk to me. My latest rifle, a British Enfield No. 4 MK2, led me here.

Also on Gunnutz under same handle. Full military Mk111 Ross ( that shoots better than I can still see), Webley Mk 1 that I need to makeup some rounds for and a VERY much bubba'd MLM with a headspace problem. A PH sportered No1Mk111 and a 1913 mfg 1894 in .30WCF on the civvy side ( plus a few others). Kayceel
Hello Everyone just registered, Intrested mainly in enfields, and sniper rifles recently just completed my No4 Mk1 with the addition of a No 32 mk 1 scope.
Was searching GOOGLE on how to get caked on cosmolene off a couple of Lee Enfield rifles I just acquired and found this site.
Bought an Ishapore Enfield 2A (.308 NATO) from AIM surplus and a friend gave me a Fazackerly No. 4, MK 1 (.303 Brit) that he had rescued from a pawn shop to complement my collection. The 2A is a POJ but the No. 4 is pretty decent.

I am new here and not real sure how it all works. I just acquired a collection of Rifles, Pistols, Shotguns and Knives from my wife's ex-hubby's fathers wife...Hope you got all that! Anyway in it are 2 military rifles without a lot of markings or markings in the stocks. One I am certain is a British .303 Enfield circa 1944. It has "England" stamped on the front of the breach. It also appears to have to clip stuck or an extremely hard release lever. I registered here to find out all I could about how to identify these 2 and some of the others that are possibly military....like the U.S. Carbine 30 cal M1 rifle mounted on a thumb hole stock that I don't think is original. I also think the trigger assembly has been replaced. Anyway Thanks for the site and any help you might be.

I am looking for pictures of a 1944 .303 Enfield to compare. If anyone has any please reply to cdminder@epix.net.
Hi all, I just signed up today after stumbling upon the forum in a search regarding my Enfield No 4 Mk1* Savage 1942 (33C8671), which was left to me by my grandfather. I recently sporterised the rifle in order to use it as a hunting rifle but I am still struggling with accuracy. I have already learnt a lot and after reading a couple of articles I am wondering whether I should remove the synthetics and replace the original woodwork. It seems that reloading my own ammunition should also help. I am looking forward to learning a lot more about my rifle.
