New member introductions thread ......

I've been wanting to collect historic militaria for a while, but my dear mother deems it a waste of money...oh well.

I mostly have modern and replica equipment at the moment, my main excuse for it is that I play airsoft, but in truth, I'm really just a "chairsofter" since I hardly actually play...

I have a few neat items I might try to sell in the marketplace here as well.

I love Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and pretty much any Asian militaria. I also enjoy American Civil War and Soviet things as well.

I'm new to the group,but have been a collector for years. Just recently found a Mauser stock at an antique store for $9.00 dollars and figured at that price I had nothing to lose. I started to research which rifle it belonged to and realized it was a very unique stock. I finally found a picture of it in Robert Ball's book on page 73 of the 4th addition. It is a stock for a Brazilian 1935 Mauser banner short rifle. My plan had been to find a sporterized version and use this stock in restoring one. I think that is going to be next to impossible now, but who knows.

I just picked up a all matching #s 1933 hex 91/30 and it is a beauty. Only thing is the front sight is loose and moves around freely- bummer-. Any suggestions on a fix for this little setback on such a nice gun. Love mosins....

Hi, Folks.
I am 73, retired, and own two Enfield No.4s. A Mk2 and Mk1*. They are all apart except for the barreled receivers. The Mk1* has a nice barrel, the Mk2 has rust pitting. The conditions were verified with my Gradient Lens Borescope. I was fortunate to obtain a NOS barrel in case the Mk2 is toast. I read Mr. Laidlers informative posts with relish. I am an avid Handloader and have most of the Enfield books. I am thinking of converting one of the rifles to the .303 Epps. Last year, I loaded up 100 new brass rounds for my spouses son in law, who has a .303 Enfield. He says they are tack drivers.

I thought I'd introduced myself, as usual looks like i was wrong.
I've really enjoyed reading the posts on this forum as it's directed exactly where I am, I
am a fanatic in terms of Garands, Springfields, Remingtons and Enfields. I have way too many but never enough. I am as much interested in taking them apart and finding out what's in there as I am shooting them. The weather may not always be great at the range but it's always right at my workbench so that's where I spend a lot of time.
I really like working with wood and build guitars, have done so since about the time I started shooting, the early 70's. So my goal is to make a lousy looking stock look like it should. It's a long process and always room for improvement. I just finished 2 Beretta stocks made from the European specie of Walnut which is similar but seems more dense. They also, in some cases, seemed to use pattern cutting machines with worn blades as the stocks are not finished to the level we are used to with Springfield etc. but they are nice. In fact, I have one that is much heavier than any U.S. stock yet exactly the same dimensions, all due to the density of the wood. Very cool stock, I'm going to sell it along with several others before long so I'll probably list them as I can.
Anyway, great place to hang out, hope I can contribute something along the way.

Been lurking here for a few months. Love the WWII guns. I own a 1943 Springfield M-1, 1943 IBM carbine & 1943 Remington Rand 1911a1. I've been reloading for the carbine for a couple of years and have started to reload for the Garand. Looking to come up with some loads using the 8# jug of Varget I picked up a while back.
