Hello. New member with an unusual question...I picked up a watch at an estate sale in Lexington, Massachusetts a few weeks ago which is engraved on the back as follows:

NIEDNER
1936-1981
FRANK YOUNG

I am curious about the owner's history of this watch. Since Lexington is not a far cry from Malden, where Niedner was located, I am assuming Frank Young was an employee of this company and for 35 years was involved, directly or indirectly, in the production of the Niedner rifles??????
Is there anybody I can ask that might be able to give me some history about Frank's involvement? I was going to take the watch apart to use the internal mechanisms in my art work but when I saw the engraving could not do it. (Probably because I grew up the daughter of a serious gun collector - somehow this seems a bit sacriligious to me! haha)
I would love to find out more about Frank Young and the history of the watch given to him by the Niedner company.
Can anybody help me track down this info?

I'm a college student who hails from central Pennsylvania, and I have a small but ever growing collection of military surplus weapons. Am new to this site, and would appericate advice I have a No 4 Mk 2 2/50 of which wanting to chamber for the Epps however am not intirley happy with the head space, the bolt head is marked No1 so what i actually need is a No2 however seem to be drawing a blank as to obtaining one here in South Africa.
So my question is should I remove and setback the barrel one turn, of course then other machining will need to be done.

Hello Group,

I happened to fine this great site while chasing information and parts for one of my M1 Garands. Since I completed all my Garands I moved on to another one for my interests, full-auto machine guns. I purchased a Japanese Type 11 LMG from a seller when I was in the gun business years ago. The weapon has been sitting around only because I didn't have the time to devote to it.
Well I have time and now I'm on the prowl for drawings, pictures, manuals even knowledge from someone on this weapon. My main problem is the weapon does not have a firing pin. I have no idea what it even looks like.
I hope this website can point me in the right direction.

Hello all!

I have predominantly collected US weapons but I stumbled on an amazing Webley Mark VI (un-shaved for .45ACP) no import marks and great condition for a rediculously good price...which propelled me down the Lee-Enfield rabbit hole. I am really looking at No 1, Mk IIIs for a good representative (and perhaps great war used) rifle. I prefer dings, and history to perfection and matching. I am leaning towards Canadian weapons since my brother lives there, so the Long Branch No 4s have my interest as well. Anyway I appreciate all the information and help. So anyone who can direct me to good information or deals I'd appreciate it! I am trying really hard to become educated before I make a bad decision.
