Hello Just wanting to say Hello to all. I am an old 13b10 cannon cerwman from way back . Hello to all.
New to this thread, though belong to a few others out there. Have watched n' read in here for some time, and you folks have 'quality doings' in here. Glad to be aboard.
I don't really collect any particular make or type of firearm, rather I accumulate a variety of irons of different types. Such as: Colt SAA's; Ruger #3's; a few older military bolt irons (a very nice original Boer War 7mm carbine is a joy; as is an 1894 Swedish cavalry carbine); enjoy lever actions; some time ago I allowed to go to new homes several Mannlicher-Schoenauers, did retain three 6.5x54mm Model 1903 carbines (one a rarity, being marked on the top of the front ring 'Made In Germany', a 1939 made carbine); Peabody's (anyone have a .43 Spanish hammer and/or block they want to sell?)(yes, my first post was in the WTB section); and a few other types of irons.
One thing's for certain: I prefer 'carbines'. Have used carbines to harvest game for food close on to 40+ years now, they work just fine. One thing I found out in my early years, is that with a long barreled rifle held horizontally, ya just can't run between two trees in the woods!!
Looking forward to time shared in here, thanks.
regards to all,

Just acquired a Inland dated 8-43, this site is just what the doctor ordered. Thanks for having me!

Greetings,
Recently I bought a Swedish M96 (1902) and I've been trying to learn as much about it as possible. After two sessions on the range, I've fallen in love with the gun and would like to use it as a deer hunting rifle. My previous interest in firearms was limited. I own an very ordinary and cheap Mossberg ATR100 30-06 which I used for deer hunting. Next fall, I hope to be using the Mauser. Perhaps too I'll be acquiring another antique firearm or two. The Mauser has really impressed me.
I'm a 49-year-old school teacher whose interest include motorcycling and foreign languages. (Alas, I speak Dutch but not Swedish. Maybe I should start learning)
