Today I was meandering around a gun show and I found a black canvas sling for (presumably) an SMLE. Does anyone know which rifles or service groups used this color?

Hello to all existing forums members, I'm new to the site and thought I best introduce myself. After a 15 year or so hiatus from all things Ex Military, I've found my interest somewhat re-kindled after a day out on the range with my Lee-Enfields recently.

Over the years (prior to local changes in law) I have owned too many Military arms to mention, a few of the most interesting being a 1937 Mk1 Boy's Anti-Tank Rifle, a 1942 Lithgow manufactured Bren gun, a German MG08/15 and a No4 T Sniper Rifle., amongst other things.

I am looking forward to being a member, and hopefully I can contribute something to the forum.
