As suggested, I've just joined the forum and will introduce myself with as few words as possible. I'm a gunsmith from the mid north coast of NSW Australia, and am amazed at the knowledge base of so many people from this forum. I regularly visit here when I need to research a particular ex mil firearm I'm repairing or restoring. I especially love the photos people post of their much loved rifles. I'm not all that big on posting, but I do like reading. So forgive me if I don't buy into any on-line debates.

Just thought I'd make a first post. In short I am a fan of anything 1903. All of the info available is staggering. Thanks to all those who contribute. That's about it.

I'm a new member and would like some advise if anyone has time and is willing to help me.
Although I don't know 'diddily' about 'em, other than how to shoot 'em, I own quite a few firearms, but I don't buy or sell much anymore, but a couple of weeks ago at the local NRA Banquet, they had a raffle for a Kel-Tec KSG multi-round 12 gauge shotgun that I put plenty of tickets in but of course, didn't win it.
I Really like this firearm and want one, But, my sweet wife won't let me spend money to buy it so I've gotta trade one of my guns for one, plus a little cash I've got 'rat-holed', if needed.
I've got an extremely nice (I am told), clean, rarely shot, Armalite AR-180, made by Sterling, low serial number, firearm in .223 and/or 5.56 that I would either like to sell for pretty close to what I could buy a new KSG for or trade outright for one. My AR-180 has never had any rust, has a Armalite clip, and a Armalite Scope mount, and I've been told, is in Very good Condition.
I'm going to list it on here as soon as I figure out how to do it, and possibly on Guns America, also. Can anyone tell me any other place to list it? Maybe GunBroker, but the ones I've seen on there didn't have any bids on them to let me know what they are selling for. Any Advise?
I have no early idea how to put pictures of it on his site, so interested parties can e-mail me at mccord11(at)windstream(dot)net, and I'll send 'em to you.
Thanking you in advance,

This looks like a great site and I will be interested in checking out different threads etc. to get people opinions on a good place to start.
Thanks again
Good morning, My name is Randy Dandry, I am 60 years old, Married, ride Harley Davidson Motor Cycles, and into Hunting Fishing and GUNS. I live in Brooklyn, Mississippi. I am new to the Military Forum. I got into collecting Military Firearms about 5 months ago, with the purchase of a World War ll, Japanese Nambu, Type 14, small trigger guard, he took it from a dead Japanese, and he service pistol a Ithaca, 1911A1 45 acp. But on the 1911A1,, the name Ithaca is misspelled, " THACA" on the slide. No one can tell me much about this gun, except that there is not many around. Bought a few other military guns, then purchased a German Mauser. That is what got me here. The Mauser I have is a Gustloff-Werke Weimar: bcd 4 . Cannot fine much on the bcd 4, everything I find is on the 337. Another interesting thing is that there is a flip up cover at the end of the barrel, that fits over the front sight, and flips up. As was told to me, the lady that I bought it from, her husband took it from a German in WWll, brought it home, he died, and she just wanted to get rid of it. If anyone knows anything about these 2 guns please let me know. or call me at 504-491-3820. Thanks Randy:))
Joe, my name is Randy, new to the forum, do you know anything about the Gustolff-Werke Weimar: bcd 4. Mauser with a flip up cover on the end of the barrel. very confused! Thanks Randy
