Might one assume that was your date of manufacture, Jim?

I did find a few things today but nothing super exciting. A US Marine Corps cap that looks like a WWI sailors cap only green made post war in 1947. These actually go over top of the visor cap and can be interchanged with other color covers. A US canteen made in 1986 in a cover made in 1981 and an undated cup marked US RJS. A US mess kit dated 1965 CARROLLTON MFG. I had none of those years or makers before. And finally a 1928 US Haversack marked A. REIF & CO. PHILA. PA. 1942. I thought I was getting the deal of the weekend, but something just didn't see right with it and once I found some good pictures on the net, I discovered it was missing the small straps that tie into the big straps. It was so cheap though I bought it anyway to either restore with straps off another one that's in bad shape or to use for parts on another if needed. Repro's are priced such that I could get one and cut the straps off it and put them on this but I'm just going to wait and see what turns up.

Yard sales a total bust this weekend. I went to a total of five, all were what I like to call 'why bother" sales. In my defense, it was raining this Saturday. Today I had some better luck although one item came from a gun show along with a Ruby pistol I'll post in the pistol thread. First item is a British No4 bayonet in a plastic scabbard of a type I didn't have. Then at a second flea market I vowed not to go to again but did anyway I found a 105mm shell for the casing I bought a couple of weeks ago. Casing is 1976, shell is 1975 so pretty close. Gun show find was a spear point of unknown manufacturer. Could be anywhere from Roman times to last month. I'm going with Roman LOL.

Looks like it could be missing an attached frog here but I couldn't find any good photos of this type to be sure. It is an M5 scabbard made for the Savage Lend Lease bayonets in the US by Victory Plastics. It should have an integral frog.

Thinking about an electrolysis bath to remove the rust. Doesn't appear to be any markings. Was acquired by seller in Thailand years ago.
I like the spear head. If you want to sell it let me know. I've been enlarging my ordnance collection too. Just got a 106 RR case at a shop for $50CDN...and a few others lately.
Very nice display.
