Hello Everyone.
I'm pretty much a No'4 fan out of shear luck. Found this unknown little sporterized surplus rifle at a pawn shop when I had the need for a compact gun for Elk hunting in brushy terrain.

Savage No4 mk1 sn 10c3233.

Shoots amazing and looks good too (if you can stand that it is sporterized).

What brings me here is this: It does not, nor does it appear to ever have had, US Property marked on it.

The assumption from the last forum I joined (one of two anyways) was that when "Bubba" chopped my rifle he ground US Property off. Judging by the markings, Bubba would have had to have milled it off.

Just want to work through this mystery with some experts and enthusiasts such as yourselves and if at all possible find some info on the scope too.

My name is Elma and this is my first post.
I just picked up my new (very old) enfield eddystone 1917 sporterized.
The stock needs to be replaced. I've been looking online to find a new one but it appear that the sporter stock that came with my rifle is different from the regular sporter stocks.
My rifle stock does not have a magazine floor plate and the trigger guard has no mag floor plate hole.
I was wondering if anyone has any idea why it is like this and if you guys know where can I find this type of stock without the mag floor plate hole.

Hello, New to the M1 carbine. just bought my first one(but probably not the last.) I like how fast and easy it was to register. Read a few posts -- seems like knowledgable and friendly folks here. I have some questions about the gun I purchased and its condition, parts, originality, etc.

Had a 303 British in the closet and never pulled it out except to move. Finally retired and now have the time and money to get interested in guns again. Started checking online for information on Enfields and went out and bought another 303 British, Model 4 Mk1. Would like to learn about my rifles and hope to one day buy a M1 Garrand. Found this site along the way and it looks like a place I could find answers. Thanks

Hi all:

Just two years ago, I owned no C&R firearms and had barely heard of them. Here we are two years later and I have been bitten by the bug, I now have lost all interest in plastic guns and lust after the best of C&R firearms, both pistols and rifles.

It it like a disease, I think about acquiring new variants all of the time. Mosins, Mausers, K31s, Garands, SKSs, I really love them all. I will be sniffing around all of the faqs to be a good contributor and will hopefully not ask the same boring questions that are repeated ad infinitum.
