Hi Everyone-I am new to the forum, joining up after finding a ton of useful information here.
hey hey hey
I hail from north central Alberta, Canada.
I've only gotten into the hunting, shooting reloading thing in the past four years.
After trolling the site for info, I joined to learn about a martini I procured recently.
Pictures will be posted soon to solicit global commentary on my find.
I'm looking for anyone in my area who would be able to meet.

Hi everyone, I am the new owner of a 1943 S.A. M1. I purchased it at a gun show from a gentlem that said it was from his gun private collection, not from a dealer. My first project is to clean refinish the stock. As I disassemble and inspect it I will attempt to identify all the part and drawing numbers. I allready seen it was rebarreled in 1951. I am a member of the "Garand Collertor Association". I have a data sheet, from them, to record the info. I must search for it.
This my second vintage firearm. Last year I was able to purchase a 1917 P-08 Luger. It has all matching numbers including the magazine.
Would like to say hello to everyone new carbine owner.
2hogluckydog: From New Orleans.
Hello everyone. I'm new here and would like to meet others with the same interests. I live in Ontario and am a big Lee- Enfield enthusiast. Cordially Rick.

I have a lifetime interest in firearms. I built what I thought would be a rifle, when I was 8 years old. I still carry an interesting scar on my chin from actually trying to fire it. I've come to an age where it is time to let some stuff go. Google brought me here, since it seems folks here share my addiction and might give some of my stuff a good home.
I have a friend that just purchased a Enfield No 2 Mk 1 pistol with a broken firing pin. He asked me to help him find a replacement. When I was searching the Internet I came across the MILSURPS web site. There was a thread about "Enfield No 2 Mk 1 firing pin" so I registered to see if I can locate a firing pin for my friend.
Hi. It has been interesting reading the commentary and now I have a question of my own. I have a Garand barrel with a top marking of D35448 S A C and no side barrel markings. Can anyone help me identify this barrel?
Thanks
hello all im trying to find out about a .455 webley 1915 that I have. im new to forums so bear with I think it a W.G. model because it has a birds head grip . I will sort out some piccys of it and hope you all can help me out . thanks andy
Hello all I am new here and have found a lot of helpful information on the forums and threads here. so thank you all for that.
Hello all.
I stumbled across this site, found it interesting, and joined up. Looks like lots of helpful folks here. I've been shooting for 50 years, so if I can add something useful, I will.
Hi. I am new here and would like to show you guys my 1943 Long Branch I picked up for $75.00 about a year ago at a yard sale. I have not shot it yet but plan to. I really like the history of items like this more than shooting them. The numbers on the rifle, bolt and mag all match. It has import marks and has been FTR'd in 49. It looks like the only thing done to it when it was FTR'd was replace the barrel. The stock is a complete savage marked stock. I have a Long Branch marked pig sticker and about 7 Charger clips. I think it was a nice deal at a great price. I will not give out the serial number so do not ask, That why there is blue tape in the pics and no picture of the bolt. Thanks
Hi Guys,
Just got myself a 1915 Enfield made no1 Mk3.
It's been a weapon I have considered getting for ages, finally got one.
I have been reading up on them and thought I should join a forum of experts to get more tips and information, so please forgive my dumb questions that I am afraid will pop out for time to time.
Cheers all looking forward to joining in
Steve
Hello. I am a new member from Canada
I frequent Canadian Gun Nutz but never had a reason to visit the milsurp forum or this website....until now.
I recently acquired a Winchester built M1 Carbine, a Lee Enfield No4 Mk1 T, and although it is not really surplus, I also now have a M14 and am trying to gather more info about them. So far this website and forums have been great!!

Enjoying the wealth of information here. Back in the mists of time (over 50 years ago) I learned to shoot with a Lee Enfield, and only recently got a No 4 Mk 2. If I can get some .303 British hope to get it to the range and regain some marksmanship. Have some reloading gear on order.
Kind regards, viejorifle.
You see, I figured it out. Once you get two or more something you can claim to be a collector, instead of just being a packrat.
I'm here because I'm a sometime, sort of prepper, and in the course of gathering tools for everyone I feel I should prep for, I came to own three WW II vintage USGI hatchets. Now I'm interested to see if I can identify all the hatchets, axes, pick mattocks and e-tools that were issued during the war and set about collecting them.
At some point I'd like to learn a little more about Garands, M-1 Carbines and 1911 pistols, but that's down the road.
Thanks, friends, I'm off to peruse some threads.
Hello All, I am new to the forum, but have some interesting rifles and have some some questions on parts and how to break some of them in. Glad to be in the forum.. Thanks!
Hi All,https://www.milsurps.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
I am new to Military rifle collecting, although I have owned, used, and sold a few nice military rifles over the last 30 years or so. I currently have a couple of nice Mausers, however I seem to have caught the dreaded Enfield bug. The symptoms seem to be undeniable.https://www.milsurps.com/images/smilies/banghead.gif Once I work out how to post pics, I will put a few up.
Regards
LuckyLes
I'm new here, I've been collecting a bit but enjoy browsing old Military collectible shows, etc.
Happy to be here
Just want to say hi to y'all. Rumpelhardt suggested I check this out. So far so good.
Helo,
My name is Tim and I live in Indiana.
I would like to establish the value of a 1945 Russian sniper scope that I own. Unfortunatrely, I know very little about them. Can anyone help?
Hello all ,I have been into military firearms for 30 years or so , mostly interested in different Lee Enfield rifles , although mausers Springfields and others have some interest
Hello every one I am a 51 yr old target shooter/collector(that cant spell) enjoying the hobby with my 2 sons and friends look forward to chatting with good people
Hello Everyone.
I'm pretty much a No'4 fan out of shear luck. Found this unknown little sporterized surplus rifle at a pawn shop when I had the need for a compact gun for Elk hunting in brushy terrain.
Savage No4 mk1 sn 10c3233.
Shoots amazing and looks good too (if you can stand that it is sporterized).
What brings me here is this: It does not, nor does it appear to ever have had, US Property marked on it.
The assumption from the last forum I joined (one of two anyways) was that when "Bubba" chopped my rifle he ground US Property off. Judging by the markings, Bubba would have had to have milled it off.
Just want to work through this mystery with some experts and enthusiasts such as yourselves and if at all possible find some info on the scope too.
Hi everyone,
My name is Elma and this is my first post.
I just picked up my new (very old) enfield eddystone 1917 sporterized.
The stock needs to be replaced. I've been looking online to find a new one but it appear that the sporter stock that came with my rifle is different from the regular sporter stocks.
My rifle stock does not have a magazine floor plate and the trigger guard has no mag floor plate hole.
I was wondering if anyone has any idea why it is like this and if you guys know where can I find this type of stock without the mag floor plate hole.
Thanks Attachment 45615Attachment 45616
Hi there all,
Just bought a Lee Enfield No 5 mk1 and want to know some stuff about it so I've joined up.

Hello, New to the M1 carbine. just bought my first one(but probably not the last.) I like how fast and easy it was to register. Read a few posts -- seems like knowledgable and friendly folks here. I have some questions about the gun I purchased and its condition, parts, originality, etc.
Had a 303 British in the closet and never pulled it out except to move. Finally retired and now have the time and money to get interested in guns again. Started checking online for information on Enfields and went out and bought another 303 British, Model 4 Mk1. Would like to learn about my rifles and hope to one day buy a M1 Garrand. Found this site along the way and it looks like a place I could find answers. Thanks
Hi, thanks for letting me join this very informative site.
I'm in the uk and a big Lee Enfield fan, esp No1 markIII.
looking forward to reading more and maybe a contribution or two myself. :-)
Hi all:
Just two years ago, I owned no C&R firearms and had barely heard of them. Here we are two years later and I have been bitten by the bug, I now have lost all interest in plastic guns and lust after the best of C&R firearms, both pistols and rifles.
It it like a disease, I think about acquiring new variants all of the time. Mosins, Mausers, K31s, Garands, SKSs, I really love them all. I will be sniffing around all of the faqs to be a good contributor and will hopefully not ask the same boring questions that are repeated ad infinitum.

Hello Folks, I'm a newbie.

Hi Folks,
Ohio here
Hello.New member here or rather I joined some time ago and have been stalking since. Must say I've learned lots from you all. I've been collecting and shooting LE's for 18 months now and have 2 smle's(Enfield 1914 mk3 and 1918 Enfield mk3*), P14, '43 4 mk1 Maltby,'42 LB 4 mk 1* , '54 4 mk2 and L39. I'm looking for a nice Long Lee I can afford now. So much to learn but thats the fun of it. Cheers all.
Howdy! New member here from the tepid warmth of Arid-zona! Am an avid collector of things that go boom. My most recent acquisition was a Rockola M1 Carbine (seems to have all the right stamps and cartouches). I'm currently in the market for a M1 Garand or a M1A. I'm leaning towards the M1A since I prefer rifles with box magazines.
Hi there - I'm relatively new to collecting and just got my C&R FFL, but already know that I'm going to need to find more room and money. :-) I'm originally from Pittsburgh PA, but now live in the Bay Area of California... and hoping the laws don't eventually force me to move. Because you just can't beat the weather and things that can grow in the garden here.
I've been lurking on the site for a while, getting lots of good information.... so figured that it was time to say hello and THANKS!

Hello all, new member from Canada, found this Forum researching my sks which appears to be a 51 Tula.
My son renewed my interest if firearms last fall. Turns out my main interest is military surplus. So far have Mosin, Russian SKS and SVT-40. Will eventually add K-31 and Swedish Mauser. Very interesting forum.
Hey there, I have been interested in WWII since I was a kid and started collecting firearms from the war last year; specifically I find myself most interested in snipers. I've since picked up two of the Aim Mosins: a 43 Izzy and 43 Tula. I also have a VZ24 sniper without the scope (I think it's real), and just bought a Finn M39 sniper (haven't received it yet, I hope it's real). I also have a few non-sniper related WWII firearms: Type 99 Arisaka; Type 14 Nambu; M1 Carbine.
What brought me here is my search for the VZ24 scope. If anyone has a lead on one, please let me know. :)
Hello everyone,

Just so the moderators and other members know I'm not a "bot", I thought it would be worthwhile to add a post. This site is such a great resource for people that enjoy historic firearms. Keep it up!
New member hello. Interested in Enfield, Mauser, SKS, and Mosin Nagant. Also currently looking for BSA scope rings RALS3 hopefully not too expensive for a BSA Majestic.
Best regards,
Jack
Hi All
New to this forum but am a regular on other related ones. Collector specialising in the Vickers, Bren and FAL rifles.
Cheers
Just discovered this site. I and my wife are military gun owners, the older the better.
Hello, milsurp owner, Shooter and Handloader here, ex Military, all round nice guy, pleasure to be a member.:D
Hi everyone,
Sorry about the tardiness in posting but never felt that I had anything to offer in my few times that I used this website. I'm not really a big time computer user.
Anyhow will try to correct that and wish to post some photos of some of my more unique pieces from collection.
BTW what is the best forum to post Swedish Mauser pictures?
New member, just wanted to say hello to all.
Good day all. I am actually an old member under the name of: D.J.
My situation changed and I had to e-register on my new system. I am the founder and chairman of the Lee Enfield Rifle Association of South Africa. We are affiliated to LERA in England. I collect, restore and maintain old military rifles, especially Lee Enfield rifle, including P14 rifles.
Hi, I am Jeff Walker and Live in Cape Agulhas, South Africa, which is the Southern most tip of the African Continent. I am always interested in weapons old but mainly newest one on the market, not that I can afford to buy any, but always interesting. I have a Webley .450/.455 revolver, that once belonged to General Smuts in the early 1900's now just difficult to get the .455 x 268 led grain bullets for it. I also have a Colt mod. 1927 serial No. 7267. I believe only 10000 of these were made for Argentine? Love the weapon, in my opinion the best stopper due to it's low velocity bullet. I am no expert on weapons of any make but always enjoy them.
Hello my handle is Tuco Tom from Boise, Idaho...
the reason for joining this site is my interest in the M1 Garand rifle.
I found the site via a Google search of M1 Garand.
Now off to explore!
Hey guys new member, got a M1 carbine, German Mauser, and a Russian M44. and hopefully a few more guns to come.
Hello,
New member. Own a 1903 Springfield M1 that has been sporterized. Am looking for a rear sight collar and pin as well as any advise as it relates to a scope mount and optics. Any help would be appreciated. Also need to remove the old rear sight collar any help there would be great.
Jonathan
Just wanted to say hello to all on the list. I have been a lurker and thought its time to join.
Hope to post with everyone in the future.
New member here, but have been interested in military rifles for 50 years. I'm not a true collector, mostly an accumulator. I particularly enjoy Lee Enfields and all the U. S. military firearms. Of course the Japanese guns are neat, as well as the Italian rifles, and can't forget the Mausers. Well, you get the idea!
Fairly new to collecting and really enjoying the hobby. Member of the LE Forum as well. These forums are just filled with info and help and history. Very addictive.

hello
im a new member here and love to shoot milsurp rifles. Hope to learn alot here on this site to further my love of shooting and collecting rifles.
I joined this fantastic site a while back, I cannot believe how many times I have visited to look up information on all manner of firearms, I have been collecting for many years, bought a lot of crap - ignorance is bliss BUT hard on the pocket book LOL
I was fairly active in buying and selling here in Canada till I experienced some person medical issues and following that it has taken me a while to recoup, but, I am happy to say I did recoup and now seem to be getting back into enjoying searching and researching firearms, the paying is a bit less enjoyable till the package arrives then I am back to being as happy as a pig in uknowwhat!
I found myself writing a small novel so I slapped myself on the side of the head and deleted a lot as I do not wish to bore any, just yet!
I am located in Frankford Ontario Canada (North of the CFB Trenton Base) I find that unless born or moved here most have no idea where it is! I am pushing the old age thing can now get a 15% discount at Shoppers Drug Mart so I am no youngster!
Cheers

I am privileged to be a forum member. I am doing research on an ancestor who was killed in 1864 at the Battle of Old Church. His coffin shield has inexplicably showed up on photo in a 4 year old post by a forum member. I am trying to follow up on that lead as we try to locate a burial site for this soldier in Old Church VA lost for more than 148 years.
Hi I signed up a while ago after finding lots of useful information on the forum. I've been collecting WWII firearms for about 15 years now. I'm crossing over to collecting gear and firearms from the post war era (Britain and the withdrawal from Persian Gulf) but have some more WWII things I need to complete my goals. Thanks for all the great posts!

Hello to all. I am a new member interested in old military rifles and pistols. Primarily shoot pistol and rifle (both small and big bore of each.) Not much of a collector - more of a shooter. Enjoy tinkering with the innards of most guns. I usually manage to make them better shooters than they were before.
Cheers

I am shermo, a retired radar engineer, aged mid 70s. Since I retired, I have been slowly collecting military surplus rifles. Because of budget limitations, I cannot afford "collectors items" or first-rate rifles. Instead, I tend to look for unpopular rifles, or rifles in somewhat banged up condition, or (when I am lucky) rifles whose owners do not realize what they have. I try to research each item before and after I buy it. I don't want any rifle I cannot shoot, so I have stayed away from calibers which I cannot buy or make ammo for.
Lately, I seem to have drifted into acquiring mostly rifles using the Mannlicher or equivalent enbloc clip system.
Hi All,
Just introducing myself. I'm a British engineer (now living in the US) with almost 30 years experience rebuilding BSA motorcycles. I still have my BSA Meteor Super .177 I bought when I was 8.
I recently added a BSA built 1906 Sht LD I*(**) to my brummy collection, and I'm loving how it shoots. I'm getting great grouping at 100yds with open sights, and thoroughly enjoying reliving my boarding school rifle club days.
The rifle met my two criteria, it had to be old enough for my grandfather to have carried in the great war, and of course it had to be built by BSA. It's had a colorful life, and has #1 Mk III Indian furniture that is perfectly fitted, but clearly not original. I'd love to see things like volley sights back on it, but I'm not sure it's even possible at this stage. Either way, I'm hoping this forum will help me learn more about my new BSA(
New to the forum and looking forward to studying up on my '03.
Hello all. Another lurker turned member. I have been collection for 8 years. I started with Mosins, but began to get interested in Lee Enfields as well. Lately, I become interested in M1 carbines.
Thank you for all the information I've picked up already, and I hope that I will be able to contribute.

Just wanted to introduce myself to evryone as Iam a new member and would ike to say hello to all my future friends, my online journey to find out when and where my M1 Garand was made led me to this location, which seems already to be a positive one. Could Anyone point me in the right direction into finding out this info? -The born on date of my garand, and also authentic civil war memorabilia. Hope to hear from someone soon....
Been here lurking for a long time. You got a great forum here.
Hello,
I just joined. I was surfing the net for problem solving a reloading question and found this site.
I recently started shooting mil-surps- a 91-30 mosin nagant in which I use mil-surp ammo, and a 1909 Argentine mauser carbine for which I reload.

Hi all. I love running down history on my older firearms, so I thought this would be a great community to be involved with. I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan with the Army, and have a battlefield pickup Lee-Enfield that I'm working on ID'ing as my current project.
If you're an Enfield guy/gal, I'm going to put all the detail in that room. Please check it out!
hello everyone hope we can get on quite fine, happy to join.
Hi guys and gals
New member to site but have been reading for a while. I have a no4 mk1 and a few questions have come up. I will post my specific questions later.
Have a good day all.
Hi, I'm a new member in Seattle. I collect some of the war rifles and am member of Wash. Arms Collector. I like shooting rocks in our local gravel pit. I recently bought a 1903 03-A3 Remington made in about 1944 and had trouble loading ammo. The rounds wouldn't go down in the magazine very smoothly. I looked and noticed there is an indent in the magazine on the left side that the follower hits when trying to load it. I can move the follower to the right and it will load okay. No problem on feeding. Then I went to remove the magazine and discovered an issue with the forward screw. When I turn it left to loosen it loosens for 90 degrees and then re-tightens and won't come out. What's with that. Your efforts replying are greatly appreciated.
Hello
I'm from Poland , I was a forum reader from years, but now I registred.
I have M1 Carbine from 1943 and Lee Enfield no4 mk1* from 1945
Hi Folks,
I wanted to take a moment to say hello and look forward to this forum.
I have been collecting military firearms for over 30 years and specialize in Mosin Nagants. But then I also love 1903, 1903A3, Garanads, Mausers....well you folks understand I am sure.
Greetings. I've been interested in old firearms for quite some time. Been living here in NC for 11 years now. Certainly makes collecting a whole lot easier than up in NY, where I spent far too many years in frozen and oppressive misery. ;)
I'm new here and hope someone may be able to help.
Can anyone tell me what the USMC holster is?

Hello.
New guy here from Northern California.
I've owned a Springfield M1 Garand and a Russian capture (I think) K98k. I've sold them off as my interests changed, but I still have fond memories of 'em.
Good to be on a forum like this, looking forward to reading and learning.
Have a good 'un,
Jay
Well, I am a Black Rifle guy who was given the opportunity recently to shoot several old warhorses and .....
now I have the bug.
Please help me!
My 1st Lee Enfield and a K31 already on their way.
Hello, new here, just wanted to stop in.
Hey,
Had a really nice M1 for over 25 years before it was stolen two years ago. I was distraught to say the least. My loving wife gave me $1500 from our tax return and told me to go buy a Garand with it, so I did. I found a really nice 5959xxx SA in 762 for $1200 on GB and bought it. Now I am looking for some help knowing just what I bought. The only markings I can readily see on what looks like new barrel ( no rub marks from the op rod) is: 762MM where all of the barrel markings should be. There are no cartouches on the nearly pristine stock, and all of the internals look nearly new as well. I will be searching the posts for info, but if you have any ideas, please feel free to PM me, I would sure appreciate it.
Thanks,
Greg
Im a new member to the forum. Like what I have seen so far. It has been very informative and enlightening. I am a regular guy who has a keen interest in military history and collecting historical and military firearms.
G'day. Just signed up so I can browse and absorb. I'm more of a general accumulator than a collector - I just like military rifles and am slowly building a representative collection.
I hope to find a decent Ross some day, for the straight-pull and Canadian aspects of the collection
New Member here and would love to learn more! I'm also 14!
