Hello all! I'm a new guy here but love milsurps of all sorts and types.
Hello all I am new to the group but not new to guns and real new to forums so please bare with me. With 20 years of collecting under my belt I know my way around guns and have seen and owned some rare/uncommon weapons. I usually stay in the WWII era of weapons bayonets and German and Japanese pistols is where I spend most of my time. And am usually looking for them hard to find parts that no one seems to have. And I hate to see guns go to the chopping block to be tacticooled and or sporterized. I have risen a some from the ashes and I am currently attempting to build a 1903a3 from scratch along with several other projects and I am always in need of parts for something.
Thank you for your Time

Hello, I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I live in Florida and was wondering if anyone has come up with a cure for collecting other than running out of money?
Hi all. I'm an aspiring military surplus collector and tinkerer from Manitoba Canada. Directed here by some fellows from the Canadian Gun Nutz forum. I have a number of WWII Russian firearms and several Commonwealth 303's from the Great War and looking to expand! Cheers!

Hello!
Heard about this forum here in Australia and decided to give it ago. I collect rifles and pistols.
Cheers, rule303
Great to join such an interesting site. I have been collecting for over 45 years. Just posted a brand new Savage Arms Lee Enfield No.4 Mk i* complete with grease for sale. It is a one of a kind item and was built in 1943.
I also have a Swedish Mauser in VG shape 6.5 x 55 which I may sell if there is interest.
Anyways great threads on this site I should have found it earlier.
David R. here, I have an eclectic collection of military items from WW1 up, from all around the world. Some I will hang on to but some will be sold off before the big post-retirement move. To that end I will be sharing pics of some and asking for info, and possibly offering some up for sale. Good to be here!
I am new to this forum, having visited several times.
I have an Enfiled No1 Mk3 (1938 Ishapore), an M1 Carbine (1943 Underwood), a Mosin Nagant 91/30 (late '30s Izzy), a Webley .38S&W Tanker Revolver and am just starting to assemble a Korean era H&R Garand (4.7 mil. serial receiver). I have a passion for WWII and Korean War history and for shooting these guns at the range with my kids. I have learned a lot already during my previous visits to this forum.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!.
Hello, I am a new member, primarily interested in Garands, 1903/A3's, Krags, Trapdoor Springfields, M1 Carbines. I'm also an amateur gunsmith doing work only for myself (no license). My Dad was a machinist, so I inherited some good (and very old) tools, and fortunately had him to teach me. Looking forward to many enlightening experiences on your various forums, and am most grateful for your broad and informative posts.
I'm a new member and am looking forward to learning as much as I can here. I'm (pretty much) the family Jack-of-all-trades and am working on my brothers' Yugoslavian SKS and the FN FAL he gave me for Christmas.
Hello everyone I'm nucsec. In the past year I have become addicted to collecting military surplus rifles.Lucky for me I have an understanding wife who loves to shoot.I look forward to all the information I'll receive from this site. Thanks in advance
Lifetime student of the gun. Admittedly more to the shooting side than any other.
I have had CCW 's for the States and have helped ( in a small way) to put on WPFG 1997.
Hi - Saw this forum searching for Bren information - great info and knowledge and had to join!
Cheers
Gidday, I am new here! Saw the forum when trying to learn more about my late fathers nice condition No1 Mk111* Great site.
Hi
I was searcing the web for information about my US Carbine M1 made by Inland Division in 1944, and discovered this website.
I also owns/shoots a Tokarev SVT-40 and a Mauser K98, both WWII riffles.
In the handgun department: A postwar Walther P38 9mm pistol and a S&W 586 6" .38/.357 revolver.
Hope to get a lot of knowledge and will share mine, if any could bennefit from it.
Sorry if misspelling now and then, I´m not an native englishspeaking person. :)
Best regards

Old dog new game, just dipping my toe in to check the water,so to speak. im interested in setting up an M96 with Elit rear and universal tube foresight, the original front blade is marked 150, will this shoot high or low?
Fellow enthusiast here, roaming the board.
Hello and Happy new year.I have enjoyed your board for a bit and now have time to truly join in the fun I have a few Lee enfields , a Jungle Carbine that is a joy to shoot . A ni and a n4 both sporters and a n1 that was given to me stripped . It has a very good bore and chamber , but has not been modifyed so I will try and restore it.
All the best to you all.
Bob
Wanted to say Hi to everyone.
I've been tinkering with milsurps for about 25 years. I started with Enfields and branched out from there. I reload for about all of them and shoot a lot of cast as well, sometimes I play with paper patching.
Been looking around the site for a couple of days and have already found some good info.
Dave
Hello friends
I am a french shooter mainly interested in military rifles
Trying to get the best of these ...
Fun and a bit of match shooting
I wish you all a good shooting new year !
Hello, new member to the forum. I'm a relatively new collector when it comes to surplus rifles but I am learning everyday thanks to forums like this and all the wisdom it and the members possess. Glad to be here. In my surplus collection so far: 1903 springfield mk1(all original parts except the correct bolt), 1943 mosin nagant 91/30(all #'s matching), 1930 finnish mosin nagant, a sino-soviet Chinese sks, and a m57 tokarev
Hello. Happy to have found this very informative site. I am a collector and shooter of US Martial Arms. I'm primarily interested in Krags, 1903s and Garands, focusing on fine condition correct arms with exceptional bores- especially muzzles. With a few exceptions I shoot every rifle I own, and usually quickly dispose of those that are inaccurate.
I compete (not very well, these days, with my 70 yo eyes) in local CMP and Marine Corps vintage matches and at Camp Perry every year. These days I pretty much go to Perry for the companionship of like minded people and because I still enjoy the match atmosphere and just pulling the trigger. I also like walking through the parking lots, with thousands of vehicles -not one of which has an Obama bumper sticker on it…..
Hope to have some interesting conversations with you folks.

New member here, but have been reading the site for quit some time. I have a no4 mk1 1942 dated and a 1965 Ishapore 2a.
Greetings to all from the currently frozen plains of Colorado.
Howdy folks, I'm new here, but not to collecting. I focus primarily on WW2 era firearms, mostly rifles and am looking to add a few pieces to the collection I have going.
Hi, everybody.
I've been collecting milsurps for over 20 years. I've got 5 milsurp Mausers, a bring back 6.5mm Arisaka, 4 MAS 49/56's, and Bren, BESA and Yugo M53 parts kits to build up (semi-auto of course).
Hi all. Used to post here years ago and haven't for quite a while. Lost my info and have changed my email since, so am registering again. Good to be back!

Hello! My name is Mitch and I am new to the forum. I am a collector of militaria and firearms in general.
I am a new member, with almost no experience and nothing to offer here, but am looking for some advice on finding a gift for my husband!
Can anyone point me in the right direction in finding a tiger striped stock for a 1903A3??
I may sound like an idiot as I really have no idea what I'm doing... but is there a price range I should expect? Are the very difficult to find?
If they will be he very difficult to find or very expensive, I'm open to any other ideas. He has the 1903A3 and an M1Garand.
Thank you!
Hi,
I recently treaded with a friend for a M1 Carbine he got from the NRA/CMP program, and I'm having a ball checking out all the markings. The stock appears to be a replacement and is stamped RIA in a box with the initials ED. It has a circle K in the sling cut out and no other markings. I am in the process of cleaning/oiling the stock with flax seed oil (RLO) and have cleared it up quite a bit. I can actually see the walnut grain. The handguard in birch, marked L-J, and although stained, is quite a bit lighter than the stock, but I will deal with that later.
Hi new member here, I recently found a compass in my grandpa's storage and I'm trying to identify what is actually is, and all the info is very helpful so thanks.:)
Hi. Dave Provan, Christchurch, NZ. I am generally interested in arms, do some restoration, and collect pre-cartridge weapons, mostly pistols. My background includes Armourer, Armament Officer and Engineer training with the RNZAF.
Special Hi to Graeme Barber, if you read this.
Dave.
Just arrived!:
Retired a few months ago, I have been working hard and never really had time to take care of my guns....so here I am !

Hi all,
Pleased to join the forum. Even more pleased as I have acquired a deact 1913 SMLE Mk III after some research and can't wait to see it in the flesh soon. I'll be asking all sorts of silly questions of you experts before then!
Hey Folks,
Just wanted to say a quick "Hello" all the Milsurps members. I'm an avid Hunter, Shooter and Fisherman with a love of all things Milsurp. Not a huge collection but have a few shooters in the herd, i.e. 1939 K98, Mosin Nagant. couple "sporter/bubba" No4Mk1 Enfields, SKS and misc non-Milsurp stuff. Look forward to talking shop, learning a lot and contributing to what seems to be a very cool forum.
Be well all.
Bolt56 here, as you can see I'm a new member and I like surplus rifles and really enjoy shooting them. Hope I can learn a bunch from you guys. Have a good one.
Hello, just joined. I;m a WWII reenactor and army veteran interested in M1 Garand and M1903a4's.
Hello to all ya'll from the High Plains of Texas.
I discovered this forum as I was looking for some information on a Martini action I've had stuck on a back shelve for 25, maybe 30 years. Thought it was about time to see if I could get it to shooting again and I'm sure the expertise I need to help me do that I will find here.
Hello my name is Harry. I enjoy shooting plus loading the 10ga
Really enjoy the forum. I'm lucky enough to have a transferable ZB26 so I appreciate all the information available here.
Hi am trying to find out what these markings mean on enfield rifle Crown VR 1896 then LEC 1.what year where it is from originally such as army or what?
Just signed up and am looking forward to being part of the community. Haven't dealt in military collectables long but as my knowledge is limited my enthusiasm is strong! Glad to be a part of this!
Greetings everyone!
I'm a new member from Iowa in the USA. I've been lurking as a guest ever since my son bought an SKS back in September this year.
It's funny how things can snowball. Back in June, he decided that he wanted to buy his first firearm. He asked my opinion. I spent 16 years in the US Army and had never owned a personal firearm. I inherited my grandpa's 12 gauge a few years ago, but I'd never fired it.
I've never hunted even though I was a "duck hunter" in the US Army (Air Defense Artillery - M163A1 Vulcan SP and later with the PATRIOT missile system during the Gulf War). It's not that I have any objections to hunting. Hunting just didn't seem cost effective to me as a source of meat and to be quite honest eating something that has been living in the wild seemed sort of dicey -- "Who knows what type of diseases that thing may have picked up?" Yeah, I know that meat from the supermarket is probably more unhealthy for consumption -- steroids, antibiotics, etc. --, but I digress.
Both of my sons are Eagle Scouts and have had experiences with .22 rifles and shotguns at Boy Scout camp, but we just never had the disposable income for firearms as a hobby -- raising four kids isn't cheap.
ANYWAY... My oldest son graduated from college last year and is gainfully employed. My oldest daughter is in her senior year. The son with the new interest in firearms is in his sophomore year in college but has a full ride athletic scholarship. Our youngest daughter is a high school senior, but looks on track to get some type of academic scholarship for college. Sooooo that means that we will soon be empty nesters with some discretionary income once again.
Meine frau wasn't crazy about our son wanting to buy a rifle last Spring; but conceded that since he was on scholarship and was an adult, he could spend money he'd earned de-tasseling corn how he pleased. Her only request was that I accompany him every time he went to the range as a "safety officer'.
Knowing how he had a tendency to pick up hobbies with a fervor only to drop them a few months later, I started doing some research on entry level rifles to provide him guidance on cost effectiveness while still having fun. His first purchase was a Mosin Nagant 91/30.
It was a great bonding experience for both of us --researching the history, cleaning off the cosmoline (?!), taking a gun safety course, searching for the best deals on ammo, and finally taking it to a local range. Since he lives on campus year round, he can't have a firearm in campus housing, so he has to leave his rifle at home. Now this was another factor that made his Mom more comfortable and gave me the opportunity to once again enjoy the experience of cleaning and getting to know a firearm.
I've always enjoyed woodworking, so refinishing the stock was a true joy for me -- Minwax mahogany and 12 coats of tung oil. It's beautiful.
Well last September, he decided that he wanted to buy an SKS. We were at the range and ran into his old Boy Scout troop leader. He is a great guy. He's into black powder musketry and is truly a MacGuyver when it comes to field craft. A few years ago, my sons and I went with the troop on a High Adventure trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. The troop leader had brought two rods and reels to do some fishing. At some point when his group was portaging their canoes, they lost his rods. I'd have been ****ed, but he took the opportunity to teach his group how to MAKE rods to which they could attach the reels. He also makes throwing tomahawks with leather scabbards that he presents to each scout when they make Eagle rank.
He had a variety of rifles and pistols at the range that he and his two sons were firing. He invited us over to fire them and my son reciprocated with offering them to fire his Mosin Nagant. This was the first time my son and I got the opportunity to see and fire an SKS.
My son now had a burning desire to own an SKS. So once again we went through the research, cosmoline removal, etc. Now I had a SECOND rifle to refinish the stock and play with -- I mean practice assembly and disassembly -- at home.
Here's the best part... my son bought me a Yugo M59/66A1 for this Christmas as a thanks for all of the work and time I've spent on his rifles and going with him to the range.
I took all four kids out to the range while they were home for the holidays. The youngest daughter has already had two trips to the range and was shooting clay pigeons better than her older brother and her dear old dad.
Glad to join the group for the wealth of knowledge -- both historical and practical.

Hi to all; I've been collecting and shooting firearms for some 40 years now, some of you will know me from CGN also as lupothebutcher. One question I have, if you would....I see plenty of maple leafs above, and I've already seen some familiar names, but is this website actually based in Canada?
Just joined this forum as I search for an original German Mauser. Looking forward to gaining some knowledge here.
Thanks.
Hello milsurps.com community.
I have just registered with the Forum. By way of introduction, I am a 53 year old Kentucky resident. I've been married for 27 years to the same wonderful (and indulging) wife. We have three fine children. By day, I'm a state government employee. I also have a C&R license.
I have been collecting milsurp rifles for the last ten years. So far, I have an M1903, M1903mk1, M1903A3, M1917, 2 M1 Carbines (Quality Hardware, Rockola), 5 M1 Garands (2SA, WRA, HRA, IHC), Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk1*, Lee-Enfield No.5 Mk.1.
I enjoy reading about the development of and the history of these fine rifles. I have already discovered a lot of interesting and helpful information here.

Good Morning, I'am a new member and just getting in to this hobby mainly because of a BSA 303 left to my wife by her father. Really trying to identify the rifle since it appears to have been sportized many years ago or even by the manufacture. look forward to visiting the sight!
Greetings everyone. Glad to be a part of your forum. It seems fascinating.
My favorite Christmas present: an M1 Garand from CMP.
I'm looking for folks who know this rifle well because I have some questions, tips on function/shooting/cleaning, etc.
Also, anyone out there (maybe I should say, "in here" at Milsurps) know if .30-06 surplus ammo headstamped SL -- 43 is corrosive or not?
Happy new year to y'all--

Just joined today. Like to shoot Enfields from 1853 to No4 Mk 1* & restoring No1 to No4s to military configuration.
Just a few lines to introduce myself. I've been involved with firearms since I was a boy, I was born in Enfield Middlesex and lived in Enfield Lock until immigrating to western Canada. Needless to say, I have a thing for anything that came from the RSAF at Enfield Lock. Four generations of my family worked there, so it was inevitable that I'd get the gun bug. I trained as a gunsmith for a number of years but work in oilfield construction in Alberta, it's not as interesting but it pays a lot more, the reality of raising a family took precedence.
I've visited this site a number of times and have always been impressed with the amount of knowledge and practical advice that I've found here. I thought it was about time I stopped lurking and signed up. I hope I can bring some of my experience here and more importantly, learn from yours. I'm looking forward to talking with all of you and sharing in our chosen hobby.
PS I like all milsurps by the way, I'm an equal opportunity kind of guy lol

i am new to this forum and am making my first post.
Hi all. New member here and I just wanted to say hello. My number one interest here is anything relating to the M1 carbine. I first handled one when I was 16 years old. A friend of mine just showed up one day and showed me this nice looking Underwood his grandpa just passed down to him. We laughed about the name "Underwood" because we thought of the deviled ham product of the day. Neither of us knew anything about the history of the rifle and the only thing we could think to do was go shoot it, which we did a lot of that day.
I am here to tap the vast knowledge of the members here for anything M1 related.
Hello to all. This is my first post. I think I have been bitten by the vintage military hardware bug. Through a friend I have picked up a few old pieces over the last few weeks. A Garand, a .30 Carbine, and a 1917 Enfield. Well, it got me to thinking about the "partial" '03 Springfield that has been sitting in the back of my safe for years. It is a Rock Island 24XXX serial number. I think it was a unfinished project gun of mu uncle. Action seems ok, barrel has some surface rust (no original finish on barrel), the stock looks to be a modified original as if the intent was to make a sporter out of it. No rear sight or sight collar, modified front sight.
I know, the first response will be "see a qualified gunsmith" to see if it is worth fooling with. I was just curious with that serial # was it potentially valuable?
Thanks in advance and I hope to talk to you much more.
Hey everyone, 18 here and looking for advice on a first purchase, but who knows, I may just stick around for the chatter...
Thank you for letting me join like minded people.
I have been collecting for a few years, from a Colt 1860 army to Garands.
I have a problem with my 1903 Springfield. I can not get off the floor plate or removes the trigger guard. From what I have been reading it may be a Greek return. I have looked for a pin but can not find it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello! I am a boy from Norway, 24 years old, bought a Lee Enfield to my collection today, i have a few queston about it so i found my way to this forum :)
Hi to all just found this site from a Google images link and as a new collector of military items have found this site fascinating, I'll probably spend the next day or so surfing

kevinL from NE OrYgunn. My little burg sits right next to the recently decommissioned Umatilla Army Chemical Depot. Aprox 24% of USA's assorted chems from WW1's mustard gas up to modern binary mix gasses meant for a huge Russian sweep on the European battle grounds.
Been interesting to see thee facilities come down and gasses be incinerated finally.
I am fifty-two, collecting arms, blades, assorted things that a GI or Marine might carry with h is or her rifle and packed gear.
Particular passion is taking old crud parts, junque stuff, and taking time to make an armory fit repair, ready to be handed back to the
soldier-marine, etc. who needed it in the Wayback.
Trade/barter/dicker/cash, whatever it takes to seal a deal, willing to work with folks.
Found the Milsurps via a post via Subguns.com (My home on net) describing the length that folks here went to help this gent solve a problem.
Sounds like a group of RKI's I'd like to be able to read from. (RKI- Reasonably Knowledgeable Individuals)
Thanks for allowing my registration.

I found this forum recently and decided to join. I'm happy to see the members are from all over the globe. Almost a year ago I bought a sporterized Savage No4 Mk 1* from the widow of a friend. I had helped him start reloading for it and we developed a load using AA2520 which I gave him and Sierra 180gr Pro-Hunter bullets, we never got to hunt with it. My 2520 supply is low and I want a suggested starting point with Varget. For me reloading is a "means to an end" not a hobby. This is my first SMLE and I will not look for another.
I've been a gunsmith for 30+ years and have collect several of my country's "Marshall" weapons. I work full time as a machinist and spent five years as an instructor for Weapons Training School here in CA. Well that is more than I've told anyone in a long time and I hope enough for now, a late dinner is calling. To my brothers and sisters "separated by a common language", cheers!
Hello All,
Just signed aboard and looking forward to getting to know you. Been collecting "gathering" US military (equipment and weapons) for quite awhile now, about forty years or so. I know a little about a lot, but not a lot about anything. Best Regards, Bud
Hello to every one, just a novice collector, that every so often needs some information, I have a spanish 1893 short rifle 7x57, The barrel is shot, bullet will go to casing when inserted in the muzzle, I purchased a 1895 spanish short rifle barrel 2nd pattern for replacement of the orginal, only difference that I can tell is the rear sights and bases, The 93 has a ladder sight, and the 95 has a ramp sight, can I put this barrel on the 1893 action?
Thanks to any and all for any info, in advance, ezekial
I found this site while browsing M-14 pics on 'Google Images'.
I served in an American armoured unit during the 1960s. I was stationed in the Fulda Gap to defend Europe from an expected Soviet attack. We had M-48A2s, then the new M-60A1. The other guys had an awfully lot of T-62 and T-55s. :yikes:
Who knew then that CCCP would fall apart the way it did? I miss The Cold War! :0 |
I qualified with every weapon I could get my hands on from the 1911 .45 to the 105mm tank gun. Good times. I trained on the M-1 Garand in Basic Training, then was issued an M-14 when I got to Germany (but did not carry it on board the tank!).
I now live quietly :0 ] on a small acreage with a wife, some animals, kids & grandkids, yada-yada....
Oh, and one noisey Harley and six very LOUD rifles.
That's me. It's a good life.
I looking forward to getting to know this site . I buy storage sheds as a hobbie from time to time I find old military items it would be good to be able to get info on some of it before I try to sell.
I have a 1911 U.S. Navy # 359393
It was my Grandfathers and he acquired it in WW1 and I believe it is a 1917 production and would like to know the history of this fine weapon.
I will put it on the market when I can establish a fair value.
I'm new to the Forum and will learn with your help.
Thanks to all.
Hello All
New here, but been collecting military for a lot of years. I'm on CGN using the same name. Thanks jae
Hi All!
Been involved in firearms for many years. Only recently have I developed an interest in the historic side of military firearms.
I'm hoping to meet others here and learn more about military surplus firearms. My first purchase was a Mosin Sniper that I spent way too much on and didn't know enough to know it wasn't "authentic." Lessons learned, and I do love shooting that bad boy, but know I can make better decisions in the future with the right knowledge.
My current interests are in "shooters," but I do think some day I'll get into true collectibles.
Hello I am in need of an extractor for a steyr m1911 made in 1918
Hi, I'm new to collecting and looking for a good example of WW2 Lee Enfield.
Can anyone please help me identify history of the attached riffle according to the markings and serial number?
Cheers

Hello, I have been viewing these forums for some time now and just registered. I have a mark 1 #3, P17, and a Mauser 8MM, That I have been told that it is a Mauser Civilian manufacture Sporter during the war. 1944???. Looking for insights and just doing the research and looking at every one's eye candy!
Howdy,
First post here Gents. Post on some other forums using the same userid, so Hi! to those who have 'seen' me around.
Let's see. I'll be 65 in less than 3 weeks, two tours in Vietnam between 68-72. Then school and a quarter century with the Agency. Lived in a lot of places but am settled now in the mountains of Western NC. Far south as I could get & as high as I could afford (not 'Denver high' but It'll do), and yes, pun intended.
Been collecting guns since 1962 when I bought a 1863 Springfield for $40 in Stone Mountain, GA. I have weapons dating from the 14th century (Japanese sword) to an AR I put together this year. Mostly 19th/20th Century though. Mostly WWI, WWII, Korea, & Vietnam.
I know a lot about a little and a little about a lot. For some strange reason I like the SKS & Japanese WWII. Go figure. Also Mosins, French, US, and of course The War of Northern Aggression.
Cheers!
Hello all. Been collecting surplus firearms for the last 6 years or so. Always looking for good information. Currently live in Texas.
Hi
I just found this site and find it very informative.

Hello
I'm a new member with an interest in Swedish Mausers, mainly m94. Many questions and searches for misc. parts
This is my first post on the forum and I wanted to say a big hello to all the fellow collectors of historical weaponry. Having been a fan of antique weaponry for many years and been lucky enough to shoot them as well, what fitting forum to join. Having a keen interest in long range target acquisition using historic optical equipment's I'm sure I wont be stuck for good conversation or help.

I want to get into RC planes, RC blimps if any one makes them, wireless video, gun smithing. If anyone out there has some good links to any of this stuff I would really like them to send them to me. Thats about it so HI to EVERYONE!
Hi everyone! I am from the lousy police state of Connecticut. I do like the old military stuff and have just started collecting. Right now I have a Mosin 91/30, Mosin M44, Tula SKS and Smith Corona M1903A3.
Hi all, another CGN member :)
Hi everybody. I join this forum with great pleasure to share my own experience and to learn from others ( certainly the most important  ). I am a long time target shooter, mainly with Mauser's rifles BUT a few years ago I came by a 1917 BSA SMLE and now I am completely addicted to British rifles. Few weeks ago I bought a 1942 Long Branch N°4 mk1* in pretty good shape, with brand new barrel and was like a kid with Christmas present. Unfortunately this rifle have an hidden issue and I am a bit disappointed :crying: . Hope to cure the problem.
Also hope you will forgive my poor English .........:o.
Fred
Hi everybody, My name is Jason and I'm a gunaholic.
I caught the milsurp bug in high school with first a Mosin, then a Mauser, and a dozen or so rifles later, here we are.:D
I found this forum while looking for info on an oddly marked smle I recently picked up, and so far I like what I see.
Hello from NW Miss. ...50yrs. shooting M1 carbines, Garands & M14's
Just thought I'd jump in an introduce myself. I'm Jim, am almost 62, retired LEO and semi retired gunsmith of over 45 years. Still love gunsmithing, re-loading, shooting, off roading and hunting when I can. I also love shooting my M1 Rifle and M1 Carbine, probably more than anything else I have. I have years of experience smithing the M1 Rifle, M1A Rifle and of course the M1 Carbine. I am hoping to contribute what I can, when I can. There are probably a few of you out there that know me from a few other forums. I always use the same user name.
Jim.................
Just introducing myself, big AK guy but like a variety of other military surplus. Just wanted to say " Hi " from Florida.
Glade to be joining your community. I am a hunter, shooter, collector.
Keen interest in Mausers.
Hi Ya'll, glad to be here!
I live in Georgia and have been an avid hunter all my life.
Just getting into the milsurp arena. Got my first SKS yesterday along with a rifle that I can't identify (got these at an estate sale cheap :) I attached a couple photos below (I think I did this right)
If you can help me identify this rifle I would be very grateful. Basically it's a semi-auto, box-fed (no mag came with gun) rifle with only a few numbers on the receiver and the butt stock. The action is funky - you slide the triangular shaped receiver cover forward and them back to drop the bolt...
Anyway, looking forward to learning from all of you and having fun.
not new to mausers, just this site,
2-M24/47's 1-sporter 1-military
