I'm Mac, I've been around firearms all of my life and have a few pieces I've accumulated.
Like everyone else I have the black guns and 1911's, But I am now getting interested in Enfield and Walther weapons from mid 30's and late 40's
I've retired from life long machining and tool making business and am starting to do some custom stock refinishing, duplication and checkering.
I have a bit of problem identifying a 1936 BSA Enfield Mark III ID tag. It look like a the letter L with a ^ to the left of it and a strange character that look like the number 3.
I hope someone can help with this one.
I also have a Walther P38 AC44 with a Dblock serial number

I recently got into trapdoors, received a quick education and now have three. looking for info and maybe a good place to sell one.

new member trying to learn up on some milsurps.

Howdy... I'm new to this and several other M1 Carbine forums after having been bit by the bug. They are fun little guns.

Ok, it all started with a single shot, bolt action 1904 Savage 22 cal. that belonged to my Dad. Sweet little gun! Recently, I decided it would be nice and perhaps handy to have something with a bit larger bore. Being of English decent, I started looking at Enfields and decided that a No. 1 Mk III would be perfect. However, in the process of searching area gun and pawn shops, I came across an M48 Yugo Mauser that I couldn't resist bringing home (kind of like a mistreated puppy). After many hours of cleaning off the old cosmoline, it was ready for the range. When that first 8mm. round went off, the rush was better than anything the '60s had to offer and I was hooked. When I was describing the experience to one of my co-workers, he mentioned that he had an old rifle at the house that I might be interested in. A 1941 No. 4 ROFM, all matching #s ! YES! So that is my current project, and is turning out to be a very interesting gun. More about that later. I have gone on long enough for an introduction. Thanks for being here with all the great information.

That sling IS GI the spec ops snipers were still using them when I got out in 96 thats most positivly military issue without question. hope it helps.

I'm new to this site, sо I'm still trying to figures how things work here... I need help to identify a carbine of Mauser system... It should be modified military carbine, in that way to be hunting rifle. Here some pics of rifle and pics of proof marks... Can somebody help me to identify proof marks, and model and manufacturer of rifle... Caliber of rifle is 8x57mm... Proof marks: "lxr" on cartridge clip, second is something like W and crown over it, but W with round edge and tails like old texts. And there is something that look like F in circle or T in it.
