Newbie Owner
Hello. This is my introductory first post as a new member. I recently got my hands on my Uncle's M1 Carbine that came back from Korea with him. My Uncle removed the carbine from a blown-up US tank. It is a late war Inland, Serial No, 68891xx, with barrel date of 02/45. I am enthusiastic about my new rifle and hope to learn more about M1 carbines in general.

SKS - 1953 Izzy all matching no refurb stamp on metal or cover, new laminate stock
SKS - 1950 Tula refurb, laminate stock not all matching

Need to slow down buying and tart shooting more :) and I hope to find a nice SVT-40, but when my wife is not looking.
What I really need to find is a 5-round or pinned mag for the AG42B.
Looking forward to some interesting conversations and learning.

Hi all,
Collector from Canada, I have only been collecting for 3 years or so. My goal is to one day try to have every main service rifle and pistol from every country in the world from roughly the invention of smokeless powder (might get some black powder we will see) to the early semi-autos/end of bolt action issued rifles (50's and 60's). The focus right now is on Swiss firearms and finishing my Soviet side of the collection.
Looking forward to learning new things.

Greetings all
Good morning to everyone,
I have just joined this forum and have taken the opportunity to introduce myself.
I have been collecting for over 25 years, I have a varied interest guided by what is interesting more than specific eras or theaters. I also have an interest in military vehicles and vintage cars.

Hello Everybody
Just found this forum when searching for information about the U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, M1.
I recently became the proud owner of a CMP H&R Service Grade Special and am eager to learn more about it. Looks like I have a lot of reading to do.

Hello from Norway
Hello all.
I am new here.
Just got started with the joy of shooting military surplus rifles.
Proved owner of my grandfathers Krag, original and matching numbers. It was issued to him in april 1940.
Will post photos as soon as I am able to.
I do take it to the range to, fun and challenging shooting with it. But, it is accurate. Will come back with more information on it.
Cheers all.

Glad to be here
Hi, been a looooong time at Mauser Central, one of their group recommended I come on over here. I seem to recall this site from years back, I definitely recall a site that had a marvelous collection of videos on the care and maintenance of Milsurp rifles and handguns.
What brings me specifically is an interest in older weapons and especially now Mannlicher-Berthier long rifles. I inherited some of my granddads things among them was a "Rosalie" bayonet, I would dearly love to connect it to the rifle.....
thanks for the site.....more later

New Member Introduction
Hello, community. I have used this website as a guest, every time I acquired a new MILSURP weapon. I started out acquiring 19th century cap and ball, trapdoors, and others, and considered myself a collector, not a shooter. Recently, I have acquired many nice military weapons of the 20th century ( including a couple of Mausers, a couple of SMLEs, M1903A1 Springfield, M1911, Krag M1898, Garand, M1 Carbine, Mosin Nagant 98/31) and want to be a shooter with these more than a collector. I'm sure this site will help me with the transition to shooter and provide help with ammunition, cleaning, accessories, etc. Also, answering the question: what makes a gun collectable. Is it the joy you get firing it, or the joy you have looking at it in your gun cabinet knowing it is 100% correct. Oh, I don't like plastic in my guns. Nice to meet you.
