New member introductions thread ......

Hi folks,

Just thought I'd say hello. New to this forum as a member although I've travelled the information a few times historically in my search for knowledge!
I live in the UK and have been shooting for many years but only recently started to fulfil my milsurp ambitions.

Currently the fleet consists of:
Lee Enfield No4 No 2, Fazakerley made, 1955
K31 dating from 1943
Swedish Mauser M96 dated 1913

Hard to pick a favourite but the K31 is so blooming accurate! The Enfield is just great but then I'm English and biased and the M96 is a work of art!

Hopefully picking up a SMLE later this week..... I was warned that if you leave Lee Enfields in a dark cabinet they multiply!

Anyway glad to be on board and looking forward to picking your brains a bit more.

I am a resident of Quebec,
I just finally introduce myself to you.
I am fan of milsurp rifle since I bought my first Lee Enfield through it I discovered a whole world by studying its history.
I am presently has put the finishing touches has a nice swedish m38 husky 1943.
I found the forum a quantity of invaluable information about him.
I hope that the language barrier is not too large a cross us.

I was told about this site and thought I would register and check it out.I have been a collector of Canadian military surplus equipment & vehicles for over 30 years now.Always interested in vehicle restorations and do alot of volunteer work for my local police & military museums as well as my own projects. Looking forward to spending time on this site and seeing other peoples obsessions!

New member, 1944 No. 4 MK1/2 F57 FTR, my 1st rifle ever and it just so happened to be a Lee-Enfield.

I have been interested in guns, shooting and smithing for over 60 years. Just plinking along. I bought my first Colt 45 via the NRA program, back in the late '50s for $15. Could have had an M1 for the same.
I found this site on a search-scan and I am beginning to enjoy the wealth of information that it encompasses.

Happy to be registered. I was brought up on a farm in Alberta, Canada and learned the ins and outs of firearms at an early age. For the past few years a couple of friends and I, having joined our local fish & game protection association, have been making good use of their members shooting range for our enjoyment and to get to know other members.
My best friend passed on last month and willed me several firearms, one which I had searched this website and others for information on a superb and very well kept 1935 Oberndorf Brazilian Mauser, 7 x 57 mm given to him by his brother after he had cleaned it up from the shipping crate complete with it's grease. To my knowledge it has not been fired. The Mauser I had referred to on this site was the same vintage with a slightly newer Serial number I believe posted here in 2007. I would like to know if this rifle I now own is somewhat rarified because of passing time. I haven't been able to locate anything similar and if any members can enlighten me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I am looking for information on the U.S. Smith Corona 03-a3. I hope this site will be a good location to get the information I need to put my 03-a3 back to original condition. I received it with a sporter stock and front sight. I want to get the parts I need to put it back the way it should be. The rifle was manufactured in 1943.

Hi everyone, I used to collect military rifles a long time ago but because of time and other restraints I quit and sold everything. Now being retired I have more time and when a friend had a 1903 Springfield for sale I bought it. Big mistake, it seems that like riding a bike you never get over the fun and excitement of finding a nice rifle at a good price and adding it to your collection. I started again about a year ago and now have twelve various military rifles. Last time I could get surplus rifles for $25- $40, how times change. I started reading these forums and was impressed with the knowledge of the members, I have learned a lot already, thank you.
