Hi Guys,
I am a new member.
I am a keen hunter who also loves to get out to the range.
I also shoot regular IPSC and 3 gun matches. Recently I have discovered how
much fun Lee Enfield rifles are to rebuild/ tune and shoot.
I have rebuilt 2 Enfields from parts and both are very accurate shooters, thanks
to RJW's book on accurizing Lee Enfields.
No 1 MKIII
No 4 MK I
Both have Parker Hale PH5a target sights fitted.
In the workshop is a No 5 jungle carbine and a SMLE that was converted to a target
rifle back in the day. It has a nice H barrel and a central target sight but the stock
has been butchered and needs a bit of a re-work.
I look forward to learning from the experts.

Greetings, I would like to ask about my 1922 Swedish Mauser rifle my dad and I got about 20 years ago. My main question is about it's condition- It appears to be brand new, all parts are pristine in finish. On the bottom of receiver is one small crown and the #836, on the front sight-left side are two zeros, one above the other. on the left of receiver are the letters HA, followed by #498836. The brass disk on right of stock has small indent nearest the zero. on the right side of front barrel are a series of letters and numbers that are too hard to make out. the stock is light beech without a mark on it of any kind. I certainly don't remember what the seller said 20 years ago, could this rifle be "unused"? Thanks muchly!

Hello. I thought I'd introduce myself to the community. I have recently become a milsurps owner. I purchased a 1953 Ishevsk SKS with all matching serial numbers. I have as yet not fired the rifle as I am on a very limited income and am very slowly acquiring the necessary cleaning and maintenance supplies required.

I have lurked on this site for years and finally thought I had better introduce myself.
Son and nephew of WW2 and Korea vets, both being career military men immersed me from birth in weaponology. I have collected military surplus articles since a preschooler and weapons as I got older. In my youth we were stationed in the middle of the WW 1 battlegrounds in France, where battle debris is literally laying on the ground even today, which made my main interest in weapons of the 1914-1918 era, but I enjoy shooting the Garand and M-1 Carbine, too.
This is a great site, a regular treasure trove of knowledge, I thank the moderators for letting me sit on the side lines as long as they did.
