Hi All,
I am a new member of milsurps.com after having reviewed many posts. Very impressed with the collective knowledge of this community.
I am also a member of THR, but my collecting interests have veered towards military surplus rifles lately, so I wanted to join and support this community.
I have been collecting guns for about 25 yrs; until recently, mostly collectible civilian guns, like old Winchester, Marlin and Remington rifles. In the past five years or so, I have run into some very nice milsurps, and the research is fascinating. This is the area in which I hope to learn the most.
Thanks again for a warm welcome,
Chris
I've been lurking for a while and thought I would just do a quick intro.
I enjoy handling and shooting the older firearms more so than the newer ones (although I have both). I have really enjoyed reading and learning from the experts on this forum and look forward to learning more.
I have two Enfield No 4 Mk1 (one with matching serial numbers for the magazine and bayonet) that I have had a for about 20 years now.
I also have two M1 Carbines. One belonged to my Dad while he was stationed in southeast Asia and he brought it back with him. That one is a Winchester. Mine is an Inland and I shoot it as often as I can.
To anyone wondering.... none of these are for sale unless we are talking some serious money. Even then, I would probably turn down the offer
So whilst researching markings on my first surplus gun I kept being led to this site! Quite the plethora of information. A few days ago I got me a Savage Enfield No.4 MK. 1* with all matching serial numbers, stock, mag, bolt, etc. Hope to find out more woth y'all.
Just posting my introduction as requested. Waiting for an IMA Enfield MK II MH and am looking for as much info as I can get. This seemed the best place so here I am. Looking for ammo to buy as I do not reload but from what I have read on line, a live Sasquatch may be an easier acquisition. Also seriously considering forming a reenacting group to portray the unit in Zulu which would be B company, 2nd Battalion, 24th Regiment of Foot (2nd Warwickshire). Almost everything for the basic kit is available online so It's very doable. I live in the Republic of Massachusetts but a hundred yards or so from New Hampshire Thanks.
Hello.
I have an interest in downsizing my collection of older military rifles and hand guns from WWII which includes US or foreign.
Nice to finally be a part of this great site . Thanks

Hello,
Been a minor collector of militaria, mostly WWI, for over 30 years and picked up an occasional handgun or bolt action rifle along the way.
I joined to get expert opinions on some of these items as I'm looking to change out some of my random collection and re-focus it a bit. I have some Springfields, Enfields, S&W's, Colts.
Really looking forward to the forum.
Hello,
I'm new here as far as posting but have followed many interesting threads since joining. I shoot my Ross MKIII in competition, sometimes well and other times not so, but I appreciate its dependability and accuracy despite having a bore that resembles a sewer pipe.
