Hello to all the Milsurps folks! To be honest, I just am pretty much a "bottom feeder", using the trememdous knowledge base here for my own selfish use....
I do not take this wealth of knowledge lightly, and wish to thank EVERYONE who contributes information to us poor, uneducated souls.
In a nutshell, I'm US Army (Ret), Airborne, served with the 173rd Abn, 101st Abn, and the 82nd Abn. Great ride, but I'm glad its over (since '93). Tried to acrue an example of each major US centerfire battle rifle for my son. I like to think I succeeded. Last interest was in B/P shooting. It was fun, but after a ton of bucks, it faded away. Now I just pick up a piece now and then and try and research it. A dear friend recently passed and his widow asked me to dispose of his collection, and thats where I'm at. Soooo, I'll be frequenting the forum for info on these, and again, the help is most appreciated. The funds on the sale of these will go to his wife.
Thanks again guys, and hopefully I can be of some help to someone, sometime.
Hi all. Long time collector/shooter/lover of Enfield pattern rifles. They are the rifles I grew up shooting the most. Always had a few to kick around with at the range or to carry when doing a Parachute regiment impression at WW2 reenactments. With prices really climbing on all Enfields Im trying to get back into collecting more seriously before all the good specimens are gone. I have a lot to learn, my Enfield expertise has been largely casual up to this point, trying to widen my knowledge.
Hello all, New member here, been collecting firearms all of my life, started shooting at age six on a farm in PA.( I STILL HAVE THE 22 LR. SINGLE SHOT RIFLE).This was in 1943, when my two brothers came home on leave from WWII.

I am 52 years old, I am a husband,Dad and grandfather. Guns is one of my many hobbies. I am waiting for my membership to come in the mail so I can buy a M1 Garand from CMP. And when they start selling those 1911’s I am going to be in the mix hoping to score one. I love my 1911’s no plastic guns for me. LOL anyways I am learning everything I can about the M1 Garand. Does anyone can you trace a 1911 to when and who it was issued to? Thanks Karl Atkins

Good evening I am new to this site. I have been collecting firearms for a long time. The past 10 years or so I started restoring 1896 1898 Krags. The parts got so expensive I gave it up. I the started building M1 Carbines the parts are even more expensive. I wish I would have less expensive hobbies.
