Long time 'lurker'; have been involved in collecting and competing with Lee-Enfields for some time, with additional emphasis since our L1A1's were forcibly wrenched from our unwilling hands....
Represented local clubs and districts, and Oz in Service Rifle to NZ, winning the bolt-action division.
Collection includes a couple of LE No 1 Mk III*'s, light & Heavy barrelled, and eight or nine No 4's, including a (still) wrapped Mk 2. One in L8A1 config (full-wood), another an ex-target version in 7.62 Nato as well.
An SAF Target Rifle, single-digit serial, in original condition including foresight and shroud, has pride-of-place on the wall.
Enjoying my time here, an invaluable resource for an avid collector and researcher.

Just want to thank you all for this great site! Really helped when buying my first Enfield (actually I bought two on a bundle deal, and you all helped me pick the right one to keep!).
Hello, new member here.
NRA life+ member.
I bought my first milsurp in 1971, an 03A3.
I did the DCM program in the early 1990's.
I consider myself a "low buck collector" and "sometimes fixer upper".
I hope to learn from this site.
I don't post a lot as I don't feel I have a lot to offer.
Thank you
Tom.
I am marc emerson, a new member, like to say hi to all, I am needing a gewehr 88/05 bolt head, how can I order one ? thank you
G'day all! Another new member from 'Down under' whom, like WGB-762 had the option of surrendering all semi-autos, albeit for monetary compensation or having aforesaid firearms confiscated and ending up in prison!
As a collector, and an Aussie who intensely dislikes being told what to do by those in Government especially those who try to make people think that they know better, I refused to hand in my collection and opted for the only other alternative. Permanent de-activation!
My collection that had this indignity imposed consisted of;
A Springfield Armory manufactured M1 Garand
Inland Division GM manufactured M1 Carbine
Harrington and Richardson manufactured M14
and
Soviet manufactured SKS Rifle
Chinese manufactured SKS Carbine (with AK47 type mag)
Any enthusiasts of the US made firearms; You do not want to know what had to be done to those firearms to make them 'permanently de-activated.'
Hint; When I told him, it made a former US Army Ranger cry!! :crying:
So far, the other parts of my collection; various types of SMLE 303 rifles (a couple of Mk 5 Jungle Carbines, SMLE's No 1 mk 3, No 4 Mk 1's, one still original 303, two converted to 7.62mm, an original K98 as issued to the Nazi SS, plus a few other obscure types remain unaffected by Government interference.
But as the Australian returned Soldiers Sailors and Airmen League's (The RSL) motto has it;
The price of Liberty is eternal vigilance
Hello everyone. I've stumbled upon this forum and hope to learn a lot and be able to contribute something substantial someday. But I am a collector in Southern California. I have an 03 and like to go to gun shows to stroll around and get stuff. I do like M1 Garands a lot. They interest me and I'm trying to get a collection of the 7 makes that I'm aware of that are available to us. I'm half way there with the domestic makes as they're easier to find but hopefully you guys can help me finish out with the Italian and Asian ones.
My current list of cool milsurps that I like to shoot and am always looking for parts and stuff for:
M1 Garand - Currently have WRA, Springfield, IHC - need Breda, Beretta, FKF, KS
Mas 45 - Looking for a Mauser 45a
CG63 - Looking for a stock set (I only have a barreled action)
K31
See you guys around!
Hi new guy here, sort of, been lurking for 7 years and I figured its been time to say hi :)
Hi everyone
Name is James and love collecting and shooting military surplus rifles, mostly older stuff not really into the newer black rifle side of things prefer the guns with historical connections.
Have belonged to this site for a few years now and finally made a first post.
Really like the site.
Hi,
Came by a couple T38 rifles carbine complete Nagoya manufacture.
Long rifle T38 Mukden China manufacture with missing bolt.
Bolts will insert but only turn 1/2 way down (aprx 1:30), got to try a few bolts taking it to gun show hunting for a fit same result. Not a 99/38 mixup it just appears different in some way.
Has anyone seen this?
