Just picked up an enfield for 120.00. It has been mildly sporterized(stock cut down) and reblued. Good news: perfect bore, sweet action, gorgeous stock Shot a steel plate at 80-100 yards standing and hit it every time. Any thoughts out there as to what kind of accuracy to expect. Also rec's for mounts/scopes.....
FYI: Fmj bullets punched straight through 3/8 mild steel plate--which I couldn't believe.

hello from steeler country i pickedup a m1917 and it's in nice shape i'm going to shoot mainly cast out of it but the groove is a little rough . from what i've read it was cut that way .i'm going to start with some light jacked loads with .308s ( 110 or 125s ) i used to shoot them at 200yds in competition i hope this will smooth out the groove a little . since these barrels are supposed to be .300 .310 is anyone shooting ( 123grs 310s from hornaday ) ?Quote:

I am a new member with the Military Surplus Collectors. I am a self taught Gunsmith/Engraver for over thirtyfive years. Most of my gun building and collecting has been with BlackPowder Muzzleloading rifles and pistols. I made Burt Reynolds a Flintlock Rifle in 1974. I am starting to sell my muzzleloading collection because of my interest in Military Cartridge Guns. If anyone is interested in selling or trading for blackpowder rifles or pistols, let me know. Hi, I'm new at collecting. Live in the PRK, unfortunately. I'm half-way into a 10 day wait on a Yugo 59/66. I'm looking forward to cleaning it up. I've applied for a C&R FFL which I should get in about 8 weeks or so. Then I hope to expand my collection.
