Will try to send photos. Rifle is probably sporterized but in very good condition, inherited from father-in-law. I have fired it several times. Wondering what info is available on this serial number 150302. Thanks.

I have been reading this form for several years and am just finally getting around to posting. Don't tend to say much unless I have something specific and informative to contribute. Very appreciative of all the expertise contained here - it has helped me greatly with my broad ranging rifle collection. Have been interested in military surplus firearms etc. for over 40 years. My first firearm purchase at age 16 was a Parker-Hale 1853 Enfield Rifle Musket (not milsurp but a reproduction) and I have never stopped. Recently picked up a 1916 LSA SMLE MkIII now in "*" configuration with a very puzzling set of marks on the knox form and receiver ring. Will post photo and other info in the LE knowledge section shortly to see if anyone else has run into these. Have checked all my reference material and the internet to no avail.
Looking forward to interacting more with the group - RVR
Ok I'm fullfilling the obligatory 1st post. Hello. I was looking for info on the 22 cal. trainer for the M1 Garand. Model designations, prices, availability, etc. Thanks. I collect WW2 arms, US & European.
Evening Gents: New here--again! Have a question on when or where M14's were issued.
Went the Ft. Lost In the Woods for basic and training was all M1. Went to AIT at Ft. Devens, MA where most residents were training for the Army Security Agency.
Signed my dream sheet for Asia so the Army would pay travel back through Denver on way to Oakland. Once in S. Japan it was decided that I should stay there at the 14th Field Station.
They hauled out some M14's and had a little Japanese dude rattle of a mag while prone. He went backwards. Then we cranked off about 20 rounds on semi-auto each, the 14's were put away and we went to work in Top Secret/Crypto buildings. Never saw the M14's again. Next I heard every groundpounder in 'Nam was using an M16.
My guess is a true full auto M14 (maybe has some other designation) is not available unless you jump through a bunch of hoops. Was there a time line for issuance of M14's through M16's someone is aware of? 35 years after discharge a brown envelope showed up with various ribbons/medals plus an amended DD214. Still has Expert with the M1 but doesn't even mention M14's or for that matter the political moniker of "assault rifle". Any answers? It may be a while before I can check back. I'm at newenterprises_at_yahoo_dot_com. Read that like a regular email address and your message will come directly to me. Thor Odinson
Hi All
Thought I'd jump in and say hi, before I start posting questions.
A little about me, from Australia. Love shooting all sort of things (yes, yes, we do have guns here). I shoot and hunt. Started collecting weird and wonderful milsurps a couple of years ago. Enjoy bringing old rust machines to life. Also a keen reloader. That's about it for now :)
Hello everyone, I hope you are doing good.
I own a mauser model 1904 bolt action rifle. I disassembled and assambled it but I did something wrong with the safety because the bolt is half way in and doesnt move much.
If you know what to do please reply to me, it would really help me out.
Good Bye,
Scorch
Greetings, I have a nice chinese sks and a recently aquired AG42B Ljungman rifle. Looking forward to good conversation and information. Also a student of history..........And I love to reload........fun and very interesting........Any advice on factory ammo that will work in AG42 would be appreciated. I have some Privi Partizan current production 139 gr pointed soft point ammlo but not sure if it will be nice to my gun. I'm assembling spare parts and reloading equipment and receipies but it will be a month or so before I am ready to load.
New member here. Also answer to what my Dad used to yell many years ago-- Ron!!!!.
Retired IT. Gunsmith now in spare time taking care of wife. Love doing refurbs on any old gun to breathe in new life -favorites are old milsurp sporters that just need a tender helping hand to give them some dignity.
Enjoying your posts!
I have become an accidental collector and look forward to learning about what I have.
