New member today. Mil-surp bug bit me a few years ago. I don't collect, I shoot. Current milsurp shooters for which I reload:
1903A4, M1 Garand, K31 Swiss, Finnish M39, Swedish Mauser M38, Brazilian Mauser 1908.
Mil-surp gun I wish I had kept: Pattern 17 in 30.06.
I have a handgun license, but no mil-surp handguns.
Also shooting:
Airguns of all style, traditional archery, homemade slingshots, and atlatls (don't ask).
Go to guns:
Centerfire: K31 which gave me a 5-shot group of 0.432 with open sights at 50 yards during a fun shoot.
Rimfire: Remington 513T with a 12x Lyman SuperSpot scope which made me sell my custom Kimber the next week.
Revolver: Old SW 586 .357 which is freakishly accurate at any distance.
Semi-auto pistol: Tie between Glock 43 9mm and Kimber Ultra Raptor in .45ACP. Neither one is fussy and neither one misses.
Air rifle: Kaliber Gun Cricket in .25cal with 32x scope. Lordy.
Air pistol: Weihrauch 45 with open sights.
Longbow: Howard Hill Wesley Special 65#er.
Recurve: Blackhawk Apollo 35#er
Hello everybody, I am glad I found this forum. I am a 20 veteran police officer and preparing to retire to Washington State from California. I just purchased a 1942 Lee-enfield rifle but I know nothing about it. I plan to try to sift through all this information in this forum and then ask questions about my rifle. I cannot wait to discover everything about this rifle I can. I don't think I want to sell it, I just want to definitively identify it and then try to acquire any missing parts. Any help you guys can provide in the future will be greatly appreciated!
Hello all! Just here to learn about vintage military gear. Good day.
Hi guys/Girls iv been a member for a little while but thought I’d say hi. I really like this forum.
Hello Milsurps,
Well I tried to use my old membership on this forum but it didn't work so I re-registered using the same handle. Some of you old timers here will remember both Ancient rifle smith and Arky Jack. Jack was my brother who passed away 10 years ago. We both collected military rifles beginning in the 1950s. I helped Jack's widow to liquidate his sizable collection. Now I'm 79 and need to let my collection go before my wife is left with the same problem as brother's.
I can't find out how to post a reply to someone wanting to buy a certain rifle of which I have one. I'll cruise around the site again and eventually will learn how to use it. Or perhaps this is another surplus rifles forum, there are several out there.
Anyhow, I'm back so if any of my old acquaintances are still alive- Howdy!

Good Evening! Glad to have found this site. Love those old guns and their history!
Hello folks, my name is Jaxson50 and I have a life long love of firearms. My grandfather was a gunsmith , my father was a policeman so I can't remember a time when guns weren't a part of my life.
Recently I have been tasked with helping an elderly friend prepare his collection of military firearms to be sold.
For the past month I have been cleaning and researching about 65 firearms he has collected since the 1960s.
That is how I found this forum.
I just brought home another dozen and I have about that many to go. So I will be posting inquiries about some as soon as I finish the cleaning and discovery part of this partnership!
Does anyone know about,
Westerly Richardson and Company short lever carbines? This one is stamped,
Made Specially for ZAR
On the right side of the receiver. So it was used in the Boar War I would imagine.
New to the forum.
Love the old MilSups, but only have a few.
Cheers!
