gew8805, I was not aware of that, thank you for your advise.
I tought that wooden grips were replaced during WWII also on 16" bayonets before they were cut to 10".
This is the photo showing how one of the two grips has been repaired, unfortunatly not really a god repair I think.

I will keep the wooden grips even if my original intention was only to replace with plastic ones and to store the wooden grips safely.

I had found wooden grips in France but I wonder if they are original or just a reproduction.
