Good Afternoon,
I am a newbie, mostly S&W no dash revolvers and nice 1911's, along with 22LR High Standard semi auto's and a smattering of shotguns.
I am about to acquire a Webley Mk IV .38 S&W revolver, and wanted to join a group that might be interested in a grand old military revolver and maybe help me to get the most of it.
My father had a Webley just like this one during WWII, serving with the Indian Army

Hello, I am a member of the LCACA and remember when the surplus stores in Montreal were selling NO4 MK1 (T)'s for $60.00 and that included the transit case.
Hello All, from a newbie to this forum.
I'm a collector of Swiss, Finnish and British rifles, and any sniper rifles I can get my hands on. Everything is a shooter, and I like to take three or four to the range on Sunday, drink my coffee, and send lots of handloads downrange.
In real life I am a motorcycle dealer (BMW, Triumph and KTM) looking forward to meeting people on this list or in person if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Hi Folks,
New to the forum, but like what I see. I have a 1943 Fazakerly (I think), No 4 Mk1/2 FTR in 1955. Shoots really nicely even with my cack-handed technique. Also shoot a 7mm-08 Sako for deer stalking and various .22 rf for fun, target practice, and rabbits.
Regards
Aaron

Hello all.
I am a lifelong shooter living in France (where I get to keep all my toys for the moment). I came across this forum whilst looking for an L42 A1, and found some excellent reference and info. Finally decided to join and have a more thorough poke around.
Current inventory (all up and running) includes :
L1A1 1964, excellent nick :thup::thup:

Tanfoglio limited custom 40 SW
Tanfoglio Stock 9mm

Walther P22 for the garden
Some of it is not exactly milsurp, but there you go...:beerchug:
Although this is not really the place for it, on the offchance that someone who reads the intros may be able to help, I am looking for :
Enfield No 4 t, UK origin, more than two grooves with diopter
L42A1 complete with case, scope and goodies
Original IWS for L1A1 in working condition
L2A2 Trilux in good condition
L12A1 .22 conversion kit for L1A1
Any other original accessories for L1A1

Hello all,
I just wanted to say HI, I am a new collector and have already learned a lot from this page, I am now working on a Lee Enfield .303 No.1 MK III, If anyone knows about mounting a scope on it I would really like to put a Patt. 1918 on top of the rifle! So again Hi to all and I look forward to all of your input!!!!
Hello from Italy!
I am a new member of this fantastic Forum ! Really a lot to learn here !
My favorite collecting theme is sniper stuff ( scoped rifles , sniper scopes and so on...).
New to milsurps. Have been interested in guns since I was a kid.
I only have an AK47-22 left. Had to sell my G3 and AR-15 due to financial difficulties. Things are looking better and hopefully I'll be able to get back into picking up some new stuff. Hope to banter back and forth in the future.
Cheers,
HGB223
Hello Everyone!
I am extremely excited to be able to glean information about the M1 Garand rifle from the members of this forum. I consider myself privileged to be able to read the posts by such a knowledgeable group of people. I own one NM Garand that I have not taken delivery of but expect to do so this month. It is a 1960 NM Type II in excellent condition. I have never fired an M1 rifle but have owned one previously that I acquired from Scott Duff. I sold that one but intend to hold on to future purchases. Anyway, I will read as many of the threads as possible before posing any questions to the forum members. Thanks for having me!
Hello
I Just Stumbled On This Site, I Have Been Collecting For Over 40yrs. I Am Looking Forward To Contibuting And Learning
I have been lurking here since the spring. In this area, there are several CGNs with whom I have associated and shot at two different ranges, Stitsvile and Danford Lake. One of my friends is well known on CGN Milsurp as a SMLE reconditioning expert and the image below is of me at Danford Lake Nov. 11th last.

Another reason is that I only challenged the PAL yesterday, having only obtained a POL initially. By the end of January, I hope to that that matter regulated.:beerchug:

Hello there:
Found you all while looking for photos of the Ross M1910 rifle. Great site been looking around here for 2.5 Hrs. and increased my knowledge by quite a bit as to Ross rifles. My only Canadian rifles are Long Branch No.4 Mk I*s [5 of them] and a Savage No.4 Mk I* W/ a C^ on the receiver.
Main collecting fields are Japan and Russia. Japan I guess, is because my dad fought them in WW II from the deck of the light cruiser USS Mobile CL 63 and the Russian because their quite economical for now. But as my signature says more or less...I know no borders or time periods to collecting fire arms. I start in early 1870 US and go up from there. I've just recently started building rifles { AR 15, PSL and a few AK verisions }.
Reload my own ammo as some of that stuff is way too expensive to buy factory made. My calibers start at 5.45 x 39mm and go up to 50/70 Springfield.
Enough for now I don't need to put any body to sleep.
Hi, I'm Mango Bob. I've been a shooting enthusiast since I was a kid. I like the military rifles the best. I like to think I'm a collector, although, I might be considered just a "gatherer" as I have all kinds of interests. I'm a re-loader and I cast my own bullets also. I think I will fit right in with this forum.

Greetings to All.
The name's Gordon and as a Brit. I'm limited to deactivated weapons. I've always been fascinated by the immortal SMLE and the No.4 and have managed to obtain fair examples of each which I enjoy renovating and repairing where necessary. I'm slowly learning the complex history and differences between all the marks so I hope you'll all put up with any daft questions I come up with.
Yours Aye

Hi, I am a new member, been collecting for 15yrs ,mostly Lee Enfields.
Managed to get acknowledged as NZ contributator in Ian Skennerton's
latest reprint of Lee Enfield Rifle.
Hi all! Sounds like this is the site to gain knowledge on all the old WW2 rifles my dad left me (resting peacefully at Arlington Nat. Cem.) Finally found out why my Arisaka carbine has a bent bolt! Thanks!
Hi new here from Georgia, just poking around and saw this forum seems like its very informative and fun.Thank for the new membership.

I am a new member and also a member of CGN using the same handle. I have 3 Enfields. A 1943 Longbranch that has been sporterized by someone else for hunting and a 1953 PF #4 MKII all original in very good shape. I also have a 42 Longbranch that was coverted to a 7.62 X 59 target rifle. I've owned these guns for about 15 years now and thought it time to learn more about them. Looking forward to picking your brains to learn more about these and reading the info that is available on this forum.
Hello to you all!
Hello to all military surplus gun nuts here. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba which is definitely living up to its nickname today! (high of -20 C but its a dry cold -yeah right) Anyways I'm primarily intrested in WW2 rifles and handguns and have a small collection of bolt and semi auto rifles. I'm very interested in the Eastern Front weapons (have a SVT40 and Mosin Nagant M91/30 - in fact the Mosin was the first milsurp I ever bought $39 back in prehistoric times). I'm looking for Polish Mausers, German handguns, Tokarev TT33 - any weapons found before and during World War 2 in Eastern Europe and Finland/Sweden or designed during WW2 that might be of interst (of course funds are limited). I also shoot modern military and hunting rifles and I hunt whitetails and upland birds. Again I'm very interested in the Eastern Front during WW2 and would like to connect with same in my area. Any help and hints for collecting milsurp weapons, equipment, etc is most welcome. I am also a member of CGN. and use the handle fugawi there. Thanks dastier.

HI All
I have been collecting long guns for only a few years now and have found a liking to Lee Enfields...There's a family connection with this too. James Paris LEE is my G,G,G,G Uncle. Because of this, I have inherited the family heirloom...the Prototype of the Lee Enfield. It was built in Wallaceburg Ontario at the Lee family foundary...its actually a 20 gauge! This has become my pride of the collection...just looking to find out more about it and others
Lookin forward to obtaining some info from all the years of experience out there...

Fresh meat here!! Just got my first Lee enfield No.1 MkIII SMLE made in 1918. She's not real pretty, but her guts got game!! First 10 shots hit the gong target at 300 yards with the original sights. The stock seemed to move forward about 3/8". There is a broken wood piece on the right side of the fore stock that seems to hold everything from sliding in the opposite direction of the recoil. I would like to replace the original stock with something newer but it doesn't have to be brand new. Having a hard time locating anything. I would appreciate any help I can get in locating something. I would like to keep shooting her but the fore stock just isn't going to hold up. 2 upper hand guards and buttstock are fine, but would prefer everything to match somewhat for looks.
Hi everyone! I'm a new member and proud owner of a no.5 mk1 jungle carbine, schmidt rubin 1896/11, and a mosin nagant m91/30. Glad to be a member of this site and look forward to reading the forums and enjoy all the information this site and members have to offer.
Hello Everyone
I am not an avide gun collector but have been around firearms all my life. After 34 years in the military I am now volunteering with the Loyal Edmonton Regiment Museum (located in Edmonton Alberta Canada). I am helping a co-worker find information on Canada's Machine Guns of WW 1. Specifically we are looking to add to our collection a Colt 1895/1914 Machine Gun which was part of the Canadian Army in WW 1 before it was replaced by the British Vickers.
So the museum would like to acquire a Colt 1914 Machine Gun for its collection. Any additional information, literature, etc dealing with the formation of the Machine Gun Corps of the Canadian Army in WW 1 would also be appreciated. Our Museums Web Page is www.lermuseum.org
Look forward to learning and communicating with all of you in the future.
hi guy's first post, just a newbie got a few ,will never have enough !hope every body is being careful outside with all the ice we just got . :D
Just joined the sight. I have recently become a collector of Lee Enfield rifles and presently have 7 in the gun case.
Hello all! Just found this site looking for info on Ishapores. Got one on the way to keep the 1943 No.4 Maltby company. I've been stuck on milsurps since purchasing my first in 1990 (Russian SKS).
Cool smilies -
I have arrived
Just joined up and really value the information posted at this site.
Been a long time collector and shooter who appreciates everything from Colt SAA's AR-15's, 1911's, SKS, AK', Riot/military shotguns, and some of the newer wonder polymer stuff.
I've really developed a passion for collecting and shooting WWII firearms and have a good collection going. In Milsurp safe there are Garands, M1 Carbines, No 1's, a couple No 4's, 2 Carano's, a few Nagants, a Nazi proofed French MLE 86/93/R35, a model 99 Arisaka, a Winchester model 12 trenchgun to name a few. I wish I bought more WWII surlus years ago when this stuff was dirt cheap but better late then never!
Well, I am not a new member, I have used this site as a resource for some time but today when I went to respond to the new subscription option a message came up saying I have never posted here. took me back some as I post on other boards but it seems not here. I will rectify this in the future if only to say thanks for a site with real info and not just opinion. Keep up the great work and I promise to be somewhat chatty in the future. JB
Hankbo here, just another FNG. I collect sniper junk, and build what I can't find. If it has a German proof 4505, I may have built it.
I hope to talk to many of you. I have already learned from some of you.
I'm new here and I look forward to reading a learning. I also want to learn how to post pics of my small collection. :)

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site and only got into it 'cos I was trying to find out more about a Canadian REL scope 1943 which I have (unfortunately no mount). What a fantastically informative site!! If anyone can give me any information about this I'd be grateful. I gather it should be fitted to a No.4 Longbranch? All the best everyone.
I have a steyer m95 and a swedish 6.5 mouser but I don't know much about the steyer I have I stoped her to find out more!
Hi
My name is Ingvar and i live in Iceland. I have a slowly growing collection of milsurps wich now include a few Mosin Nagants (M91/30, M91/30PU, M44), Enfield, 1909 P08 Luger, and a few other old firearms.
I just found this site and is looking forward to browse the forums.
Hi folks
I have always been interested in military rifles but just started to purchase a few.m1 garand and a yugo m48

New member, I have been a casual collector for many years. I aquired a family heir loom No. 4 MK1. I am looking for history, and accessories to finish the rifle properly. Read the website and found it to be very infomative. if anyone can help I figured this website could. Thanks!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. I hope you were all good this past year and Santa brought you a new rifle or some shiny ammo or some fabulous accessories.
New and old Enfields are interesting. Many of the Civil war reenactors who have 1853 Enfields also like to shoot the 'new' Enfields in that newfangled .303 that you don't have to stuff down the barrel for each shot.
My newest Enfield is a 'mystery' No. 4 Mk. 1 I'll try to post its details in the forum and I hope someone recognizes something.
Happy New Year!

I am new here. Have been collecting mostly British (Lee Enfields and Webleys) for a long time. I am semi retired, still do some gunsmithing, mostly stock work.
Looks like a great site

Hi Everyone
I'm new here but have been a rifle shooter for many years. Have a No4Mk1 and a Ross that I don't get out to the ranges as much as I'd like. Also interested in WWI history.
Hello everyone.
I'm actually new to the milsurp game - have focused more on AR's and Glock's. However, I have always liked the .303's, so I have decided to get into the Lee Enfield game. My god, there is a lot of information on these guns - however, finding a basic history and what the different Enfields are is quite confusing.
I have already sold off alot of my other gun stuff and have purchased 2 No4's - one is a Maltby and the other, well, not sure yet...haven't actually received either yet...will probably be asking questions in the near future:)
I am of New member to your group. Short Story for the membership. I am researching a rifle that has been in my family. My Grandfather was a WWII vet. From my childhood I was promised the rifle which I just found out today by joining your Group is a MKI No.4(T). I will not explain how or why my family used it for endless deer huntings in PA. I always freaked everytime it left on a hunting trip. I am wanting to add the right equipment on it to completely restore the rifle to its correct configuration. The cheek rest is missing, I need the scope, and the tool kits. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I happened to take it to the shooting range to BZ the frontsight. i need the frontsight post tool to bring it back to the left some. Other than that she is fully operational. All the wood is original and the hunting trips did not give her many scratches. Thanks for the website and the informational formums.

Hello, John from Texas here.... glad to become a member of your community. I love collecting mil-surps have been doing so with my dad since i could walk! I have many fine military rifles, a few are quite rare. If there is anyway that I can help anyone out please don't hesitate to let me know. I am no expert on any certain field, but am by no means an amateur either!
Greetings,
After lurking a little I thought I'd put my head up (gulp). Hi!
I'm from Newcastle ,NSW,Australia and I'm led to Milsurp by an interest in history and militaria in general.
Of late I am leaning towards buying a decent Mauser ( Kar 98, M48/48a or Israeli) for range work.
Where in this Great Sunburned Land should I look for a good honest deal? Any suggestions welcome.
Can anyone explain why Mojo (Peep Sights by MOJO Sighting Systems) is not prepared/able to export to international addresses? I've written them but no reply to date.
Thanks for the informative fora and wide ranging selection of weapons displayed.
Kais.

New member from AZ. Hello to all.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this black/gray/green background so I can read the forum naturally? Thanks
Gday Fellas, Im a keen hunter and Military buff from North Queensland Australia. I love my Lee enfields and enjoy this sight immensely.
See ya . Russell James
Just picked up an enfield for 120.00. It has been mildly sporterized(stock cut down) and reblued. Good news: perfect bore, sweet action, gorgeous stock Shot a steel plate at 80-100 yards standing and hit it every time. Any thoughts out there as to what kind of accuracy to expect. Also rec's for mounts/scopes.....
FYI: Fmj bullets punched straight through 3/8 mild steel plate--which I couldn't believe.
Thanks
enfield no1 mark III
hello from steeler country i pickedup a m1917 and it's in nice shape i'm going to shoot mainly cast out of it but the groove is a little rough . from what i've read it was cut that way .i'm going to start with some light jacked loads with .308s ( 110 or 125s ) i used to shoot them at 200yds in competition i hope this will smooth out the groove a little . since these barrels are supposed to be .300 .310 is anyone shooting ( 123grs 310s from hornaday ) ?
anybody know where to find some inch magazines for an L1A1?
Hi Folks
I am a new member with the Military Surplus Collectors. I am a self taught Gunsmith/Engraver for over thirtyfive years. Most of my gun building and collecting has been with BlackPowder Muzzleloading rifles and pistols. I made Burt Reynolds a Flintlock Rifle in 1974. I am starting to sell my muzzleloading collection because of my interest in Military Cartridge Guns. If anyone is interested in selling or trading for blackpowder rifles or pistols, let me know. For a new member I think I said enough. Thanks (Steve)
Hi, I'm new at collecting. Live in the PRK, unfortunately. I'm half-way into a 10 day wait on a Yugo 59/66. I'm looking forward to cleaning it up. I've applied for a C&R FFL which I should get in about 8 weeks or so. Then I hope to expand my collection.
Hi Folks.....just over here from gunnutz....
Greetings everyone,
I'm an Enfield fan and this site seemed full of info.

I am a new member and I am Italian. I have been collecting from some years.
Hi folks. I'm new here and new to the Lee Enfield. I (my Dad)did buy one about forty five years ago, $15 mail order. First center fire I owned. I've been a shooter all my life and have, well lets say many fire arms. Lately my main interest has been cap and ball revolvers and old (pre-1920) S&W revolvers.
Being new to the Enfield I have a lot to learn, this forum looks like a great wealth of information. Hope everyone has a Happy and prosperous New Year.

Hey all Shortandlong checking in from CGN
Hi! I just came across you guys yesterday while looking for some non-berdan ammo for my new SVT-40! I'm relatively new to the scene, I've only just started collecting (only had my licence since early '07) but I've been learning about guns all my life, they've always been a fascination of mine, much to my mothers consternation
I started my collection off, as I think a lot of us do, with a cheap, sporterized No.4 Mk1 Enfield and it's just snowballed from there, filled my first gun safe and now it's on to number two!
Shortly after I got my license I picked up a bunch of reloading gear and started up with that and I've been rolling my own ever since; haven't fired a factory round (excusing .22 and shotgun) in over a year!
Anyways, looks like a great community around here and an awesome resource for info, I'm looking forward to learning a lot!
Hello all, been around for a while.
Have a bud on here that got me into the classic's.

Hello!
I am an old retired auto mechanic that has hunted and shot all of my life.
The fact that I inherited all of my dads old guns plus the ones that I bought my self must mean that I am a collecter too.
At present I am cleaning up a pair of Snider Enfields and pair of Martini Henrys.
I'm also putting Getz barrel on an old English shotgun.
I'm new to using black powder but not new to reloading in general.
I live in south eastern Saskatchewan:
Greetings all. Just signed up and am hoping to spend a lot of time here. Have a great interest in military rifles, handloading, cast bullets and a tinker/machinist.
Just picked up a sportered long branch #4MKI* two groove barrel, parker hale sight ramp up front. But missing the rear sight, front sight insert, both trigger guard screws, butt plate and both screws. Walnut forend and buttstock. Have spent two evenings cleaning the junk out of the barrel. Hey, at least it keeps me off the streets. Frank
I have a few enfields, I'm most proud of the Jungle Carbine I have I wish it didn't kick so hard. I am looking forward to reading the forum and learning more about enfields and other rifles. I also have bayonets mostly enfields.

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND POLICE OFFICER FROM 1958 TO 1989. PISTOL TEAM CAPTAIN FOR OVER 25 YEARS. RELOADER--SHOOTER. PROUD OWNER OF A BRITISH .303 ENFEILD No. 5 Mk1 (F) JUNGLE CARBINE MADE IN MAY, 1947.
AA 68XX. GREAT BORE, SHARP LANDS. ALL MATCHING NUMBERS. FINE SHOOTER, BUT I WANT A LIGHTER BULLET TO LOAD FOR IT. PREVIOUS OWNER SPOILED THINGS BY APPLYING VARNISH TO THE ENTIRE STOCK. AFTER READING SOME OF THE POSTS, I FEEL SMALL BY NOT BEING A COLLECTOR. HOWEVER I DO OWN A 1903 AND A 1903 A3 SPRINGFIELD, A M1 CARBINE AND A M1 GARAND. A FEW YEARS AGO I PURCHASED AN AR-15 FROM BUSHMASTER.. MY MAUSER WAS CONVERTED TO A SPORTER MANY YEARS AGO BEFORE I REALIZED IT'S VALUE.THIS IS A FINE, & VERY IFORMING WEB SITE. HOPE TO STAY HERE FOR A WHILE.. "KEEP 'EM IN THE BLACK" :dunno:
